    Network mode issues

So Skytrak shows the yellow flashing light but it doesn't turn solid yellow. It goes to 3 green lights with the laser on. When I go back to settings/wifi it shows Skytrak so it seems like it's reverting back to direct mode. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong ?

For me that happened and it was because I kept selecting wep instead of wep2 (out whatever the bottom one that says recommended on it was). After I did that it worked for me and it went solid yellow

I had an issue and realized that my ST and IPAD were on different networks....I have 2 at home. It would be nice if you could see network info and signal strength on ST app.

I've never been able to connect in network mode. The video Seth posted said the ST wouldn't accept special characters. I can't change my network password and it has one special character. What do I do?

Make sure you type in the exact wireless network name. (Capital letters, spaces etc. ) also make sure you aren't using the same subnet that the Skytrak broadcasts in when in direct mode 10.x.x.x. Try using a 192.x.x.x. That worked for me.
As far as not being able to change the password, not sure how to get around that.

Not sure whether this helps, but looking at it from a different angle, if your problem is that you've never connected in Network Mode and aren't sure whether it's a problem with the Skytrak, *and* you can't change the password on your network (shared network??), why don't you try changing the network?

As a test, you could try using WIFI Sharing (tethering) from a phone or a cellular wifi gadget (if you have access to one) where you can ensure the network password meets the criteria.

That way you rule out the Skytrak, if that works.

If that does work, then you could perhaps buy a plug in network extender that can connect to your existing wifi network, but publish it's own wifi access point, and connect to that instead from the Skytrak. Those devices are about £20 / $20, so not a big deal compared to the Skytrak cost...

That's what I do, as my Skytrak is outside the house where my Wifi device is and the signal strength was too low for Network Mode to work, but the extender gives me a rock solid signal. That works for me, but it would also seem to work for you, as it would create a whole new Wifi network that you can control, while still using your internet connection...

I'm having similar issue. I was able to connect to Network Mode until recently. The app says it's connected after doing a network connection and SkyTrak isn't listed under the wifi, but it's not syncing, the lights are all green and I can't connect to WGT or anything like that. It's absolutely driving me nuts. I've tried the hard reset and nothing seems to work.

Update... it randomly started working but it is crazy sluggish and laggy on network mode.... 100mbps connection with the router about 10 feet away. In WGT, it takes about 10 mins of "looking for devices" before it begins to connect.
