Running gspro without subscribing to skytrack

As above really. I have an og skytrack. I have no requirement for the optimizer stuff but fancy playing some courses

I've read it worked fine without paying a skytrack sub, so I'd only need to pay for the gspro

Is this still the case?

Yes, GSpro does not require paid subscription to Skytrak ( at this time). Doesn't mean that in the future Skytrak might integrate GSpro, and if that happens might have to up the ante...
