Hey guys how difficult is it to set up and keep running GSPro on my ST original. And is it a better option than the new course play option. Currently using play and improve with e6 connect 15 courses. Iam 61 computer skills are limited lol cheers and thanks.

I don't think it's very difficult. Get on the Discord site SGT channel scroll down to Skytrak connection help they have the API setup you need. don't go to the SKytrak plus area it won't work on the OG. here's the invite link https://discord.gg/GvSsRgYK. BTW it doesn't work with V5 Skytrak software use 4. I have used it for year without issues.

IMO, yes. Note, I haven't played GSPRO my opinion is based on videos I've seen.

Skytrak course play:
The good: decent selection of courses.

The Bad:
Many thing feel incomplete or rudimentary. For instance, compare how trees work between the two. In ST 5 you so much as graze a tree and the ball instantly stops and drops straight down. In GSPRO from the videos i've seen the ball flight through trees looks a lot more realistic.

Graphics, the ST graphics are just ok gspro on the other hand looks very good.

ST 5 doesn't have online play, doesn't have the sim golf tour, etc.


Unlike you, I have deep technical skills however, I'm not going to go the route of gspro until there is official support. I'm just not going to risk spending money on gspro only to potentially have the community integration fail. The second official support is available though, I'll switch as it will be years before the ST software is even close to what gspro offers.

So, I lied. I took the plunge. Technically it isn't hard I can help you just join the sgt discord I and others monitor the skytrak channels.

Never going back to skytrak course play. Gspro is just that much better. also joined the sim golf tour, first event is a fake golf course on the planet Tatooine from StarWars called Mos Desertly. Really fun course.

I still hold out hope for official support from Skytrak.

Yes, I've run 7 before with no issues. (Other than underestimating both the amount of time it takes to play 9 and the number of adult beverages consumed!)

fyi, i do not recommend putting. it 'technically' works but IMO is awful with the skytrak+. a tap that IRL would roll 3 feet produces 3mph or higher ball speeds and rolls out 10+ feet. say you're trying to hit a 20 footer, you'd use roughly the same stroke as if you were attempting an 8 footer IRL.

i tried it, and i'm just not willing to ruin what little feel I have putting IRL.

that said, for close in chipping in gspro, switch your club to putter. this throws the st+ into putting mode and works pretty well for chipping and close pitches (inside 30 yards or so).

perhaps if we ever get official support for gspro the putting mode gets better but for now it is awful IMO.

Can't explain why but putting works fine for me. It has helped my distance control a lot. Maybe change the stimp mine is set to 8.

Sorry to hear about putting. But glad you posted I’ll stick with e6 it’s not great it’s solid. Been using for 3 years. Was just hoping for something better. Thanks guys.

New version of GSPRO is available in beta. I downloaded it and used it. Mostly changed the interface much nicer. A lot more course selection and filtering. Other than that I didn't notice any difference. Your reference to V5 must be the Skytrak software. It's been out for some time and it's really good.

by v5 i meant the next version of v5. the version that adds v5 to IOS devices etc. this 5.x version is rumored to be coming anytime now if official support for gspro is coming it would come as part of a new release.

We can hope they will support GSPRO. FYI the GSRO API currently doesn't support V5.
