    Skytrak OG Hail Mary

My Skytrak is long out of warranty... the yellow charging light is stuck on even with the USB cable removed. Long story short, tore the whole thing apart, there is an LED board. It looks like resistor R1018 is gone, fell off, blew off, who knows. Anyway, anybody got a picture of their LED board, component side? [hint, board member awisnia who did a teardown but has a full mailbox...] Would be great for me to verify yes there should be a resistor there and maybe even get the code to figure out the value. For what it's worth, there's no copyright violation by posting this picture because I'm trying to fix this, not sell it.

As an add-on to this post, I had a resistor somewhere around 40 to 60K (the one next to the missing one is 68K)... When I added it in temporarily, the charging light went out. I think I'm on the right track here...

Looking at the circuit, this is most likely a zero resistance resistor, who knew. They would need special equipment to install a jumper so instead, they make a surface mount resistor that can be installed by machine like any other smd resistor but has zero resistance. We'll see if that works...

First, the editorial... I don't think I have seen a more complicated and hardware intensive way to get a dual LED to light up, especially when you have a cpu onboard that would require two output lines off the cpu and some software.

Here was the fix, a jumper wire soldered in where R1018 used to be. Not elegant but, geez, those SMD pads are super tiny.

So now, everything works fine, light lights up yellow when charging, goes off when finished, stays off when the cable is disconnected and lights up green when on. I did not test low battery when it should light up red...

If anybody runs into this or similar problems with the Skytrak LED drivers, here's some more info:
