  • I'm at my wits end with Skytrak / GSPro connection problems.

I am having frequent connection problems between Skytrak and GSPro. It'll usually happen once per session, but for some reason, if I have friends over, it happens constantly. I've tried troubleshooting on the GSPro/Sktrak Discord and it's gotten me nowhere. Here has been my process:
    1. Setup in Network mode - Encountered disconnects
    2. Tried adding exceptions in Window Defender - Still encountered disconnects
    3. Tried from a mobile tether (different router AND network) - Still encountered disconnects
    4. Changed to Direct mode - Still encountered disconnects
    5. Made sure that WiFi Adapters don't have any networks set to auto connect (so there's not competitation) - Still encountered disconnects
    6. Tried a rubber mat due to finding some old thread about static electricity... still... encountered... disconnects.
So I'm current in Direct Mode, using a second wifi adapter on my PC, with the PC about 5 feet away from the Skytrak. I'm using GSPro. I don't know what else to try. I can see that on these disconnects the adapter does need to be reconnected after. So I can only conclude that either there's a problem with the GS Pro Device Interface or some sort of hardware issue with the Skytrak.

I've included pictures or my setup here: https://imgur.com/a/h8LDFma

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

Can't really see just where your Skytrak is. Is it in a protective case. have you run a speed test on your pc wifi. Try direct USB mode that way you eliminate wifi.

It's on the left side of the picture in a protective case, yes. You should be able to see the red dot coming from it. Note that I'm using "Direct Mode" currently, so I don't think a speed test would matter... I have left handed friends, so USB mode is a no go.

Might try it on USB for a test to see to eliminate wifi as the problem. If it is wifi then it could be your Skytrak hardware.

Yeah, this is the problem. I'm buying a Square, selling this OG Skytrak, and moving on.

The only thing that ever fixed my connection issues was going to USB mode. Not sure how to reconcile that with the lefty switch over.
