We are installing a Sim purchased at our local school for the golf team. The LM is a SkyTrak Plus. I see there is a connector from Discord available to run GSPro. We are trying to figure out which software to run. Is the connector from Discord considered a legitimate option. What I am getting at, is since we are a school, we don't want to "hack" or do something wrong so to speak. Just curious how many of you do this, and if it is stable and always works? We don't want to spend the money for GSPro and end up getting shutdown for some reason or finding out it only works half the time or something.

To be legit, you might just want to go with the Skytrak range and sim software. GSPro is not officially supported by Skytrak.
FYI, the Skytrak range is excellent, maybe the best. Skytrak course play is also very good.My published Courses, all Lidar:

There is nothing “illegal” about using the 3rd party connector with SkyTrak to play GSPro. So use it and enjoy the software.
the SkyTrak software is also good but GSPro is excellent for game improvement.
Although for use with golf team I would try and upgrade to a Foresight or Uneekor product. I could also recommend ProTee VX but that may be out of range for a school budget.Comment

Just to be clear, I did not mean illegal. Just the fact that it is not officially supported, if something changes you could find yourself down and waiting for a fix in order
to connect. And since it is not supported by Skytrak they won't be helping you.
I think it also depends on if you want to actually play sim golf or just be able to do range work. The Skytrak range with the yearly essential package gives you tons of parameters, pretty much everything except AoA. I am not sure about GSPro for parameters such as swing path to target or club face to target.
StalefishFS3 is probably correct in saying that the Skytrak Plus might not be best for a team , in particular if you want to play sim golf. Range work should be ok because you won't have to move the unit back and forth for right and left handed players.Last edited by jpotas; 01-07-2026, 10:48 AM. -
They already purchased the Skytrak. I have the Skytrak plus been using it with GSPRO for 2 plus years. It works great. The API for Discord has a script that will install everything for you. if anything was to happen in the future the Skytak couse play is very good and their training software is one of the best. Thanks, I haven't looks. Is there a fee to download the connector from Discord? I am almost 50 and have never used Discord. We would probably use a mix of range work and course play over the winters and during rain days, which we have plenty of during our spring high school season in the midwest...Comment

The setup script provided in the SkyTrak Plus Discord group handles everything, so you don’t have to manually configure anything. I’ve been using it for a couple of years with GSPro, and it’s stable and reliable for both range work and course play. Since you’re running this for a school team, it should cover your needs just fine.
