Has anyone confirmed that if you don't update you still can play the challenge? I will check tonight as i have not updated mine.

Yes I an 100% sure. The people you reffer to probably only tested to connect and checked the first challenge.
So WGT works, but it's different vs. before and I get the same error message as everybody else. To see it you actually need to try to start one of those challenges.
My WGT, ST iOS app and ST firmware has not been updated. Meaning that WGT is probably Java or HTML5 based and gets downloaded each time you start to play. So they can change the functionality in any way they want without any updates of the iOS WGT app.
Just to be clear. I have no problems with that. WGT cost money, if you want to play you need to pay. That they would close down the free beta was both expected and perfectly OK.
After having tested the challenges I would rate the value as 10$ one time fee and only if you don't plan on buying TGC or something similar.Comment

I have not updated anything and the challenges are gone. I actually liked doing the challenges, i guess it was somewhat like a combine, having to hit different yardages and such. Worth more than a Mcnugget meal, but not worth the current yearly package price.Comment

Agreed. Worth more than a one-time McNuggets meal - maybe worth an annual McNuggets meal =)
That being said that was for ALL the challenges. With only one challenge + other stuffs in SkyTrak outside driving range definitely falls back into a one-time McNuggets meal category and definitely not worth 10 McNuggets meals a year.Comment

$10.00, jeez, that actually made me laugh out loud. I'd be happy to pay the $100.00 right now just to have full course play. I'm playing a round an exclusive club today and my green fee is $100 (that's for 4 hours of golf, only 18 holes). Well the 10$ was actually for the single course challenge mode where you hit 1 shot per hole as is described in the GI package. Not sure how full corse play came in to the discussion.
I actually found the beta test really interesting for 2 days and then it quickly faded in to boring.
Now sim SDK value that is also part of the GI package is a totally diffrent story.
I am sure there are people out there that would pay 100$/year for a McNugget meal, I just happen to not be one of them.

It's $100 for anyone.......that is, in order to play any of the simulation stuff you need the GIP. So factor in the $100 regardless of whether your looking at TGC, PG or E6.Originally posted by goatbarn View PostComment

Luv 2 golf is right, You have to take into account that any sim play will cost you $99 for the GI package, so you may as well just accept the fact that if you want the skytrak to be anything other than a very basic range simulator, then its going to cost you $99 a year
I agree therefore that when comparing SIm play costs, WGT is $100, compared to the supposed $995 for TGC, and the unconfimed pricing for E6 or PG.
So many of the features of the GI Package, other than the Sim play unlock should be included for free IMO, but thats not the way it is, so I guess its either put up or pay up -
I agree John, i think a little more should be included in the base package when people spend 2k on the device. Also, i think it would've been better to have the challenge on all the courses in the $99 option and then full sim play at the additional $99. Lumping them together doesn't seem very logical. WGT is already offering a single course challenge at $99 so i would think they are getting a cut or maybe it's just a teaser to get you to buy the next level.
