I ordered one the first day it was available in Canada and noticed that I was charged right away as opposed to on shipment - is this a typical practice? Also, has anyone heard if these are on track to be shipped out next week?

I ordered right away. Most often, what you're seeing on your card is a pending authorization. However, some card issuers have policies regarding how long a pending auth can exist, so the retailer may be forced to initiate a charge, even if they normally don't charge until shipment.

I ordered mine in April with my skytrak. I didn't get any update on the net or turf. Only on the skytrak. about 10 days later it was sitting at my front door when I got home. The problem is that the order for the net goes directly to netreturn. So skygolf can't give you any status on it.

One thing I've learned is most often not worthwhile to be early adopters for SkyTrak - if they can't get a simple case out in time how are you to trust them in getting the hardware/software right for early adopters? That's why my advice to SkyTrak: when they release the sims (WGT, TGC, etc.) and other stuffs, allow customers to use as free beta (or test trial) for a while before charging people - because if things don't work after people have paid there will be riots on the streets.
I'm headed to Japan next month so will be picking up a metal protector sold by SkyTrak Japan - heard from most people strong enough and does its job protecting the unit (though the hole allows ball to get thru - but so does the U.S. SkyTrak one).

SkyTrak_Seth any actual pictures or video of the case? Contacted Skygolf via chat and the phone and they had no clue what I was taking about.
