  • SkyTrak - Playing courses in WGT

    I hope I'm not repeating an already talked about subject. I'm very new here, just got the SkyTrak up an operational. I bought the Game Improvement Pkg (haven't activated it yet) now I hear we can upgrade so that we can actually play courses. I see SkyTrak's
    Game Improvement pkg. Is $99. or GIP with courses for $199. I would think I could just upgrade from GIP Right? I'm looking all over SkyTrak's website I can't find a phone number, email address or anyway of contacting them. I find the lack of my ability in contacting them slightly uncomfortable. I hope I'm missing something simple.... Help... Btw I love the unit itself.

    You are not missing anything. This company has zero customer support and leaves customers hanging or in the blind all the time. We have guys that have owned and paid for GIP for almost a year and not only have gotten nothing out of the $99 but cannot play full courses now it's out. Ridiculous!

      Not trying to influence anyone. Just giving my honest opinion:
      - SkyTrak the device is amazing (portable and super accurate for the price);
      - however I'm sure many will acknowledge there is zero customer support (I cringe every time I need to contact them for support); and
      - lastly from business ethics perspective, they should not have sold GIP (annually or otherwise) when it was not ready and only sell when ready (i.e., hopefully in the next week so people can choose if they want $99 GIP or $199 w full course play and no one has to wait for some email or code, or be upset they had paid $99 during past year for nothing).

          Should be good for you, I'm in Pacific and poses no issues. Get to call early AM. Hey, can you fix the tilt on the tv by your net. It's driving me crazy!!

                SKYTRAK is best & most exciting thing that's ever happened to my life ( outside my first born child & seeing my wife across a the room at crowded party for the first time ). What is with all the haters and those we do nothing but knock the unit, the customer service and focus on all the negatives ?! It is priced so fairly I now own a full blown SIM ! the customer service may be a touch hard to get a hold of BUT when you do I have had nothing but great experiences with reps who truly care & are persistent til they fix your issue. Then you have "Mr. Accountability" SETH on this site...weeding through all the nonsensical posts and going out of his way to answer questions, making everyone's SKYTRAK experience as seamless as humanly possible. I AM A HUGE FAN of the product, their service, their current and future affiliations.

                      Ya, I've flipped camps, WGT is a joke, it was a $99 rip off. The product is nothing like the Closest to the pin challenge that we were able to demo.

                      I feel that all SkyTrak_Seth, was here for was damage control. Yes, he's been helpful but at the end of the day, he owns a stake in Sporttrak and for him to make money, units must sell. And units don't sell if people are pissed off.

                      Bang for the buck, it's still the best unit out there. That being said, don't expect to still not be using a BETA product. This will still be a BETA product for another year or two until all the bugs, tweaks and changes are implemented.

                      So at this time, it's definitely BUYER BEWARE. Know that you might get a defective unit. right Willymakit and a few others out there. Also know that if you buy it, it's yours. HARDWARE and SOFTWARE, there's no try before you buy (Skytrak, Game Improvement Package and WGT).

                        Whoa. Huh? All those same closest pin challenges are still there, and you now have added course play. I don't get it, you think I come here to hear people tell me how perfect things are? I've spent a lot of time with you offline and am disappointed to read this. Best of luck.

                      I totally agree with you on this. At the moment my Skytrak is enroute back to headquarters and am waiting for a replacement and or fixed Now once I get my replacement or the fixed one back two things might happen
                      A). I might actually had a defective unit and everything Skytrak says it does will do. If anybody remembers I had issues with the woods being 20 yards short. Now once I receive the replacement and still does the same thing
                      2) I will probably lose my sh@t and will be asking to return it. At the moment when I sent this unit back they say I couldn't. I decided to try one more unit and will go from there.

                      Wait for a update in a months time when I receive my next one. I don't want to own a product when the manufacture specifies what I does. Anything less then that I'm not interested of owning it

                        I followed up on this and found that you requested one thing from the distributor and another from SkyGolf directly I completely see where the delay and confusion came from.

                        i did talk to the distributor and he said he will ask Skytrak if I can return it. Distributor got back to me and said that I couldn't. i have all the emails and texts. If you like I can send them to you. Or should I post on here. Up to you Skytrak ?

                      I think Luv2golf has hit the nail on the head with the BETA sentence.. and its a real shame WGT hasnt lived up to the hype. Im sure that theyll get there eventually, just not there yet

                        Played 2 rounds again yesterday - anything within 15 yards of the green is unplayable - even with the auto putt. Add in the weird angles and strange collision detection they use and it's constantly taking you out of the moment.
                        Don't get started about also being hosed on the fact you can't play 18 holes on Pebble or some of the other '10 Courses!' we were promised when you buy it....
