  • SkyTrak v2.0 Release Notes

    Guys,

    We have just released v2.0 for iOS. I will address game improvement issues from the past in a different thread, so let's keep this conversation about v2.0 and any questions you may have with it. It looks like some of you who were testing the PC release had the Game Improvement Package, but it was not linked to your device. It was an easy enough fix, but I've had the SkyGolf team go ahead and search all users/subscriptions and take care of any remaining similar issues, so it should not be an issue moving forward.

    I'm sorry I haven't been able to be on the forum this or last week, but there's been a lot going on behind the scenes. I will just say that this release was timed for the full release of WGT.

    V2.0 RELEASE NOTES

    - Added subscription/license requirements for Subscription Package features and Simulation partners
    - Resolved Data Sync issues
    - Added SkyTrak Hardware Battery Indicator
    - Added “+/-“ fine-tune adjustments for Closest to Pin distance adjustment
    - Added ability to save Session Settings (remains on last used)
    - Average distance on the range is now for current club only
    - Fixed Side Spin Average bug in Session History
    - Added ABOUT screen in Profile – Displays software version, firmware version, and registration information (for now, this will only serve as a register device button)
    - Users are automatically upgraded to hardware firmware version 1.35 for future putting functionality
    - Various bug fixes/backend/server communications/licensing work

    Mine froze up about 4 times this morning. I had to turn of the skytrak every time to get it to work again. Sync also seems to stop working shortly before it locks up.

      Yep. Mine froze several times today as well.

      Weird thing was that I tried to login and just connect directly to the skytrak.

      First error said I wasn't Registered and had 5 days to register. Then I connected my iPad to my wifi and that problem went away.

      But the. Another problem which said I had a wrong account and that I had not logged onto my the skytrak software before. Closed skytrak and turned the iPad off and the problem went away.

      But when I connected to the skytrak, there was no GIP, even after a licence check. This was with a direct connection as my home wifi is not compatible with skytrak.

      Had to then grab my wife's android phone again, setup a wireless hotspot with it. Connect both the iPad and skytrak to it. Then finally things worked once they were both connected to my wife's android phone wireless hotspot.

      Is this the way it is meant to be all the time now?

      If so, this is totally painful, especially if I want to take skytrak out to the driving range, which I do once a week.

      I can't keep borrowing my wife's phone all the time just to use skytrak.

      Is anyone else having these problems?

        Seth. I downloaded 2.0 last week and was surprised to see all my functionality has been disabled. I purchased the GIP when I bought the device earlier this year (around May 2015) and was not sure of the benefits it provided at the time. It seem like now it IS needed to enjoy the device. How can I get the functionality of the 2.0 GIP back without having to repurchase the GIP? Please help! -Simon

          Sorry guys, I somehow missed these from the end of October. Are you all up and running now? It looked like there was an issue actually linking the GIP to your SkyTrak units, but that has been long resolved. Hopefully things are working correctly. Psi, have you activated your GIP? Have you registered the device? Make sure you sign into the app, sync your data, THEN connect to the device. We need to pull your membership data down from SkyGolf 360 in order to write it to the unit. Let me know if this still doesn't work.

            Now my skytrak wifi is not even showing up. It just keeps trying to sync with wifi blinking amber light and I can't even connect in direct mode because the skytrak wifi isn't showing up in wifi settings.

              You may want to delete your wifi connection on your ipad. Then if you open the Skytrak App, then minimize the app and go to your Settings/Wifi. You should see the Skytrak to connect to using Direct Mode. Then maybe later connect your ipad back to your wifi. Then close your Skytrap App (by swiping to close it out completely) and open the Skytrak app back up. Try configuring your Skytrak to the Wifi again. Make sure spelling is correct. For example I have an Apple Airport. The main wifi being broadcast is Airport. But I also have an extender, which the wifi name/SSID is Airport_EXT So I type Airport_EXT when setting up the wifi connection in Skytrak. If you run into problems, always try turning off the ipad and back on and same thing with Skytrak. Good luck!

                Seth - device is registered and data synced. Not sure if I activated GIP. How do I activate GIP?

                  Ok Seth. Looks like I have everything synced, register, and have skytrack with sky golf account. Just saw a "15 day expiration" notification and still no environmental controls. What can I do to get the environmental controls back and be able to access at least the 1 course with GIP. I would like to demo soon.

                    Psi, not sure if this is your issue. But you need to make sure the GIP is activated on your Skygolf account with the Game Improvement + Play.
                    - Log into Skygolf
                    - Click on Account
                    - Bottom left screen, click on Renew Membership
                    - Then it should say something like Activate (might even say Activate Skycaddie Device) but just click Activate
                    - Afterwards make sure under your Skygolf account it shows something like, Game Improvement + Play

                      Thanks Mike - I logged into my sky golf account and after hitting "renew" it took me to the various skytrak packages as if I need to purchase GIP. I purchased GIP when I purchased the device back in April 2015. I did not "activate" the GIP back then since the software already seemed to have closest to pin and challenges on the previous versions (I assumed GIP was already activated). I do not want to have to double pay for the same thing. Any advice on how to activate without repaying. A promo code would even suffice if that will get me to a solution quicker.                         Ok - called sky golf and they were able to link my account with the GIP purchase. We'll see how it goes tonight!
