  • SkyTrak Unboxing Unit Issues

    Hey Guys,

First time posting but wanted to know if this is something I'm being overly picky about or not. I ordered a brand new unit and received my Skytrak a couple of weeks ago and sent it back because it clearly had been used before. The unit had scratches on it and the seams of the plastic covering of the unit didn't even line up. Customer service was great and I sent my unit back and was shipped a new unit this week.

I received my latest SkyTrak and to me it still looks like it has been used before. The area around the plug in for the mini-usb has scratches on it and looks like its been beat up. There are a few smudges of something on the power button and also on another part of the unit that are not coming off just by rubbing my finger on them so not sure what they are. The button itself doesn't really sit even in the unit as you can see from the picture. The unit looks better than the first one I received but I still don't feel good about the purchase right now. I'm really not trying to nitpick but just wanted to see if anyone else has had some of these issues. When I pay $2000 for a brand new unit I kind of expect it to look pretty flawless out of the box. This unit looks like its been used before and was refurbished. I would understand if I had bought a demo unit that it would have wear. I'm just worried if I send it back again I will still end up with the same issue. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

    Thanks,
    Justin

Yeah, they should be pretty close to pristine. However, every single unit is hit tested on prior to shipping by a real person, so there is some handling (could account for smudges) and also usb cable marks from being charged, although it could just be the mold. As long as the power button doesn't have play to it, then is is good. Mine is a little off kilter too, but it's just the way it sits on the circuit board. I'd say you got a new unit.
