I purchased the SkyTrak Play and Improve Package. I have the WGT app, i can't figure how to play. Do i log in via the Skygolf app or the WGT app?

Open skytrak app then click the home button and open WGT whole skytrak is still open. Once you are past the tutorial you will need to go to options and select skytrak as the device. It will recognize slytrak (as long as you are in network more) and there you go

I'll try to help out a bit. I just ordered the package yesterday. I'm sure the instructions are within a thread here, as these folks are extremely helpful. Here goes:

First off, there is a link under support on the Sytrak website that gives some decent directions. There's one for placing your Skytrak unit into "Network Mode", which is required. There's also a link for setting up and linking the unit to the WGT app. All-in-all, this proved helpful but it still took some effort on my part, because I hadn't ever been successful in getting my unit into Network Mode before.

Initially, you need to download the WGT app to your IOS device. I'm sure you've done this already. Register within the app or website, and obtain a user name. Log into the app on your iOS device.

Close the app by double-clicking your home button, and swiping up on the WGT app.

Open your Skytrak app. Go to settings on your device and get into the wifi settings. Click on your Skytrak device and wait for it to connect. Once you've connected to your unit, return to the Skytrak app. It should indicate it's attempting to connect to your unit. If you've never gone into Network Mode before, or the unit was last in direct mode, it should put you into direct mode by default. Watch the lights on the unit as it's connecting. When the lights go all green and you see the red laser dot/ball marker, press the connection option at the bottom of the Skytrak app home screen. This should take you into the connection options screen. Choose the network mode option. If you haven't previously used network mode, a pop-up option will allow you to connect to your home internet wifi.

This is where I ran into problems. I know I'm a little spoiled & used to most apps searching and displaying the nearest wifi options, but the skytrak app doesn't do this. BE VERY SPECIFIC in entering your wifi name, security level and password. Enter it EXACTLY as it is... it is case sensitive, and my understanding is that you cannot have any special characters (i.e., $ % _ !) within the password. If you do, you'll have to change your network password before proceeding

Hit connect and watch the lights on your Skytrak unit. They should go black and then light again indicating they're attempting to connect. If you're successful, all three lights will go green and you'll see the red laser indictator in front of the unit.

Close the Skytrak app by double-clicking the home button & swiping up on the Skytrak app. Again, check the lights on the unit... The bottom should be green, middle YELLOW, and top red. This indicates you are in network mode, but no longer connected to an app on your phone or iPad.

Now, open the WGT app. If you forgot to swipe it closed, you may have to do this, then re-open it. The WGT app is initially a little tricky. If you've previously registered with WGT and were successful logging into their app, it should be pretty easy from here. You should see the pop-up asking if you want to connect/proceed with the Skytrak unit. Obviously, you accept & it will then attempt to connect with your device. If you get an error message during this process -- clear the message and look in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Tap on the user icon and get into settings > options. Swipe all the way to the right untill you see the Skytrak option and switch it on. (This might not be necessary, and may only be required on the initial set-up). You may have to completely close, then re-open the WGT app. You will see it searching for a device at the bottom of the screen until the connection is successful.

You "should" now have an active connection between your Skytrak and WGT.

      Explore and play!!!

Hopefully that was helpful. I'm sure someone here will chime in if I've missed something.

I really appreciate the Help! Thank You…

Here is my issue. I can sync my unit.
        1. I open my skytrak app and log in via network connection; I’ve done this several times and get all three green lights. If I open the WGT app it will not connect.
        2. If I open the skytrak first it will sync with bottom two lights green and top light will stay red.
        3. I’ve tried opening WGT first, tried opening ST first.
        4. I’ve tried opening ST and syncing with all three lights green, closing and then opening the WGT app and still the same thing.

        I’m I missing something?
        I'm using an iPad Air

Ok, this might help... When I first power on the Skytrak unit & open the WGT app, it will say connecting on the bottom left portion of the screen. Once, successful the Skytrak will show the bottom two lights as green & the top light will be red. You're okay at this point.

Once you choose your course & select play - watch the unit. All three lights should go green & the ball placement laser should appear.

If you cannot connect at all through WGT, this is what I had to do:

Delete the WGT app on your iPad. Go to their website & create a new account, providing a new user name, password & email address. Download the WGT app again onto your device. Log in using your new information & follow the connection directions I mentioned in the previous post.

It sounds like you're properly connected. The middle "green" light would indicate so. It sounds like you just need to select a course in WGT. Select the option you want (i.e., full 18 hole course). Select the "Tee Off" button. Another pop-up will show you a description of the hole you're about to play. Hit "Continue". The app will take you to the tee box & your Skytrak unit will light up like a Christmas tree. You should be ready to go.

Sounds like your Skytrak account isn't associated with the device. In WGT does it say something about needing to Unlock to Play courses?

Log into your Skygolf account on their website.
                Click on Account.
Then bottom left screen I click Renew Membership.
Then click Apply Membership to Skycaddie Device (I know, it said Skycaddie. Just do it).
Then it should say Activated and you should be able to play WGT full courses.

So make sure under your account it says GIP with Play, and not just GIP.

Wait, are you trying to have both open at the same time? If so, that's your problem. Once the SkyTrak unit is in network mode, close the SkyTrak app. Just open WGT and it will connect.

I have tried everything in this thread and still no luck ... Is it because I am using a apple device that isnt supported? I have tried numerous times with iPhone 6 & iPad mini ( not retina one ) , I am assuming this because I saw what you needed for full course play and these devices were not included

Hello, new to this forum. I have been able to use the Skytrak in direct mode without any issues. I am able to connect using network mode but having trouble while in network mode. When using WGT, the Skytrak constantly reverts to "Looking for devices". Skytrak shows green yellow red lights. It can take several minutes for the lights to light up green. I have a similar problem in practice mode on the Skytrak app. I am using an iPad 2. Full wifi signal.Network is not guest network, iPad only connected to 1 network. I have placed the iPad right next to the Skytrak. FAQs state that this color sequence means it is waiting for a connection with the software on the tablet. Any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

Maybe resetting your network can help. Had a friend with similar issues and a reset on the network side helped.
