  • Does everyone really hate their skytrak?

I have read so much negativity lately towards skytrak and wanted to hear from more people positive or negative. I have also read several people who have been very pleased up to a point but have now "flipped" on their skytrak. I don't consider myself an overly positive person but for the second straight fall find myself full of joy that I have a chance to hit balls inside my home with a launch monitor.

I would love to hear from some of the more experience sim/launch monitor testers for their take on this topic.

I think the E6 might be a touch long as well. There is a boost and you can go negative to reel it in. I haven't tried it yet, but did see the option for it.

the e6 demo definitely has the distances boosted slightly or is reading the skytrak data differently

I felt like E6 1.6 was identical to Skytrak as far as my distances go.

Then I ran the Updater for E6, which downloaded a slighter newer version (1.6.1 or something like that) and now its reading about 10 yards longer on all shots, compared to Skytrak driving range.

I love my Skytrak but I'm not yet satisfied with where the software is. I'll keep suggesting and waiting for change and one day maybe it'll be perfect =)

After another session today, I figured out my previous post about my skytrak being off was wrong. My swing with my driver indoors had changed just enough to cause these issues. I was finally seeing the numbers I see on the course with the added launch angle I finally figured out I was losing indoors (I've never used my skytrak at the range and this probably would have been a big help early on). I adjusted my swing and was hitting a large number of shots in my 245-250 range, with a very nice number in the mid to high 250s and 260+ area I see myself hitting when I hit one pretty hard. The farthest I could hit was 272, (I had one that went 282 but I think it was a misread, I don't swing 114 mph with 160 mph ball speed). Mishits were in my 230 range that I usually see on the course. Anyone who's having short reads needs to take a really close look at their numbers indoor and outdoor and see if you're missing because of an indoor swing issue. Tomorrow I'll get a chance to hit in the e6 range again and see what the numbers show for that.

Love mine, but there's DEFINITELY some functionality issues that should have been addressed from the start and a little more beta testing to see what golfers actually want. I don't think I know anyone that would want a default that didn't have a centerline or to have a spaghetti bowl of 50 shots shown. It's a great product, but people simply don't want to have to go through the same steps every time they launch the app when it would have been ridiculously easy to have the app save default choices. Just things like that. Great product.... just wasn't ready for prime time for a while.

My settings stay the same every time I open the app. The elevation, temp, wind, view, tracer. All of it

I upgraded to v2.0 so my app now remembers my settings for everything except for tracer (still default to 50 which is really annoying) and course condition (which defaults to normal) - not sure if it's just me or they forgot to allow you to set your own defaults for these and will correct in v2.1?

Na, they know. Not sure why those two settings aren't saved.

One thing I noticed - the settings appear to be stored up on sky golf, not on the device. I know this because ever since v2.0 came out, the Skytrak app runs dog slow if I login. It appears to be forever trying to sync and this slows down the UI to the point of being unusable. So I never allow the app to login and my settings aren't stored when I do this. I suspect there must be an issue with my account since apparently most people are syncing with v2.0 just fine. Probably another case of early adopters getting whacked.

For me its a love/ hate, sync/ no sync. Works enough so I don't throw it against the wall most or some of the time. And hey how about that 360 Golf? I can read emails or walk around the block while waiting for it to load.

Seems like SkyGolf's had a long history of consumer complaints about its poor business ethics and lack of customer service. I just feel bad for Seth and the guys at SportTrak who did a great job w Rapsodo in developing a great little device only to have it ruined by SkyGolf.

doublebogey, very true, it's quite unfortunate actually.

That being said, skytrak/sporttrak has been in testing for almost 2 years now.............WTF!!

Well said doublebogey! Seth has been great, I'm just fed up with this product and the company. I just want to hit balls and improve my golf game.

You can hit balls all day and work on your 'RANGE GAME'. No multi player sim options though.

So it's great if your a range rat.
