    Skytrak and Left handers

Sounds like the Skytrak is user friendly for us lefties? I am real close to buying one, but was wondering is there are any lefty's now using Skytrak that can tell me the problems, If any, of using the Skytrak with a right handers. Changing back and forth, : Example : if I wanted to play closest to the pin with a right hander?. please post if you have any knowledge of this issue
    Thanks

I'm a lefty and I do love my skytrak contrary to what other might take from my posts. I haven't had buddies over to play yet, but the biggest is going to be switching from side to side for every shot..........(the switching isn't a huge deal, what the huge deal is......), leveling the unit each time it moves, verifying alignment each time it moves. Now that being said, I'd have the same issue with a GC2.

What I experimented with a bit over the summer time was setting it up as righty and hitting 'over top' the skytrak. I works and reads correctly and will eliminate the need move it every time. I'm a 6 cap and make good contact 96% of the time. Still need to try a full round and then decide.

At the end of the day for $2K it's a great launch monitor that still has some bugs to address - short chipping, putting, wood distances, WGT full Demo and other sim releases still pending (BETA).

I don't have one yet but I'm thinking if you are setting it up as a right and hitting over the top wouldn't all the readings be reversed?.interesting concept though

No, the readings aren't reversed. I've asked and checked, the numbers are bang on.
You see the unit isn't measuring club head face angle, just the ball flight.

I play with a pal of mine who's a lefty , I set the unit up correct for him and I swing over the top of it , saves moving the unit each shot - sometimes is struggles with small chips and pitches when I swing over the unit for some reason maybe my shaft angle interferes with the camera

I do the same, just swing over top of it. Haven't played a full round yet as we are still playing here, weather's been great.

Going to play a full round on E6 this weekend...........will post results later.

Has anyone had issues with the sky track not holding the left handed setting? Mine seems to start left handed then for some reason switches to right handed or even gives me 2 laser dots or might not give me any laser. I need to re start sky track and start over. Very frustrating. Seems to be fine using E6

Don't even get me started. I've had horrible luck with it defaulting right handed in the middle of a practice session. I also went to play a challenge and it was stuck right handed.

Fortunately, I don't mind swinging over top of the unit, so I just played with it set up righty. I do it when my friends come over a round at Wade Hampton (getting really lame only having one course)!!

We need Skytrak to address this issue. I'm hoping that someone from Skytrak will see this. This issue with the laser not sticking for left handers is so annoying. I'm having to restart my software or re-boot Skytrak, and or both more often than not. if someone from Skytrak could please address this issue , I'm sure all of the ST left handed users would very much appreciate a fix one way or another.

Hey Jimsol, I don't get that problem as much as you seem to. What software/hardware platform are you using?

I don't use the skytrak app or wgt (gave up on both when E6 demo came out). So all I use is E6. I'm running it on a gaming PC and have minimal delay once in awhile the laser will just to right hand.

I have both the PC and A IPad Air 2. I have the most issues with the actual Skytrak software. E6 as you said seems more stable as staying on the left handed settings. I have not switched enough between the PC and Apple to see which is worse. I should try that and see if one or the other is more pron to holding the left laser more than the other. It is frustrating, wish that someone from Skytak look into this..

Hey guys - yep, we found a bug where handedness session settings were overriding the user profile. It will be fixed on v2.1 for iOS.
