  • Just pulled the trigger, any tips or suggestions?

Hey guys, I just pulled the trigger on the ST this AM. I am still in the process of figuring out which mat and net I plan to get. Might set up in a temp-location in the garage or in an upstairs game room.

    Any tips or suggestions?

    Thanks!

I have the Net Return, and Country Club Elite mat. Love them both! Very pricey, but if you're willing to spend the money you won't be disappointed.

JKurz, see my other post in Stance Mat Sliding Around. I have some pics of my setup: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...-to-keep-level

I bought my turf mats from AllTurfMats.com. I bought two 5' x 5' commercial grade turf mats. I originally had the monster tee turf, but after a year I started hating the monster tee turf. It was too thick. It was squishy standing on it and not firm. I think the thick turf would eat your club sometimes and reduce club speed.

I am very happy with these. They feel more like hitting from a fairway. At $179 I think these are the best mats for the price. See link below.

Are these mats good on carpet?

Yes, these mats can be set on carpet. But most mats will slide a little after continued hits. So if you see in my other post I ended up securing my mat by screwing into the concrete. Now I align my Skytrak and my mat does not move. It's the best decision I've made. Otherwise it was driving me nuts having to keep sliding my mat back after it moves forward. Also then my alignment was off. So you need to find a way to secure it to the floor.

Good one. I was thinking that they don't make gloves like they used to.... then I realized how many balls I've been hitting.

I also went with Net-Return..and like it. But if you are installing this in a permanent location, it might be better to look at just getting an impact screen that you can hang from ceiling, for use with a projector. But if you are putting in a place where you might need to move it, Net-Return is great.

I had gotten tendonitis in my elbow from mars and it sucks. I spent the money on CCE and no issues. They are well worth the money just to not need several months rest to recover.

I bought the twin system and just bought a 3x4 stance mat for my sim room. Now I don't have to adjust the stance mat location based on club length.

This is going to be a semi- temporary setup, I'll be finishing my new house in about 8 months and will have a dedicated room with a projector setup there.

                Can't wait to get setup!!

Ended up getting the True strike MK7 and the Net return pro. Now I need to start mowing lawns for some extra cash!

Great buy, I got the true strike mat too and love it. I use an impact screen though (11' high ceilings).

Is true strike like hitting jelly?
