Yes... But the launch angle and spin numbers are nowhere near what they are with real balls. Buy Qolf balls. They are very close to real golf balls with Skytrak.

Agreed that almost golf balls do not read well. I bought a few to try out on Skytrak last weekend and while it had no problem picking them up and calculating distance and spin, they were way off real balls, enough to make them unusable. I don't mind a small discrepancy for a quieter ball when I need it, but it was way off. I'll try the Qolf balls next.

The Almost balls work with Skytrak but I have found that the launch angle, ball speed and spin are off resulting in lower distance. Unless you have a program that will allow for boosting the speed etc. you will have lower distances.

I use them when I need to hit a 9 - LW since they tend to hit the ceiling. Seems like the distances are close to what I expect for high lofted clubs.

Do you think it would be the same with the GC2? I'm planning on having my kids and wife use almost golf balls until they get a little better and can generally hit the screen. I don't need the reading to be completely accurate but hope the distances and general ball path would be within 10-20% of what it would be with a real golf ball. I'll be able to do my own testing soon.

They launch far lower. I find their approx 10% down on distance.
That's absolutely fine for simulation but if you want to work on your spin or launch angle then you need to hit the balls you play with on the course.

They don't work properly. Just went thru this last night in my garage. My typical swing speed hovers around 100-105 mph in the 230-250 carry range. Almost golf balls were consistently reading 85-89 mph with 170-190 carry. Went back to regular balls and the difference was documented immediately. I won't be using them anymore because if the inputs are that far off, I would assume the projected ball flight is also inaccurate.

With E6 demo, you can play multi-player and set the boost........so you boost the wife and kids and leave yours at normal. Give everyone a fun time.
