  • Need help fixing...

So my buddy did what I thought impossible: shanked a ball right into the skytrak. The seam on the target side of the case is no longer flush (see pic). I can't seem to force the case back into its original position. Does anyone have any idea how to go about fixing this? Is there a proper way to take the case apart and put it back together? Thanks

Unit still seems to work fine by the way.

Just snap it back together.....ask davray666 , he's taken the unit apart.

The unit is not built to be taken apart. The 2 brown halves are designed to slide on top of the white body and have a spring loaded lock at the end.
They also have grooves on the edges that keep them together.
To start with you need to break the warranty seal at the bottom and remove the screw that is covered.
Then remove a few more visible screws and then use a significant amount of violence and special tools to force it open.
Once that is done you can easily assemble it again by just sliding the 2 halves back on.
Chances that you will break it if you don't know what you are doing are high.

Or just leave it like that. All the electronics and cameras etc. are attached to the white base. So you should not have any alignment or accuracy issues.

Thanks guys. I'll try to snap it back together. Haven't had success doing that yet. Sounds like taking it apart is too risky.

I think you missed what davray666 said........... IT DOES NOT SNAP back together. I was saying that in jest as I've never taken one apart.

If you try to SNAP it together, you might cause more issues. Good luck.

Perhaps call Skytrak or wait until Seth chimes in here. If its working alright then leave it for now until you get an official word.

Yeah agree if working leave it alone until Seth can give you some guidance on how to fix. In meantime, maybe order the ST protective case and put inside (to protect and probably looks nicer than front somewhat opened) - I know people have said their protective case is crap but might be best solution for you.

Yeah, like mentioned above, trying to mess with that casing on your own is risky. I'd also not recommend removing the warranty sticker. My suggestion is as long as it's working, just leave it as is. If you'd like to get it taken care of for cosmetic reasons, then you'd be best to send it back to have SkyGolf repair it. It'd be a cheap and quick fix that you could schedule during a time you know you wouldn't be using it.

Does anyone have the protective case from Skytrak? Are they any good? Says on website that you can pre-order for Dec.1. Since its mid Dec. are they shipping now?
