Hello everyone....1st time poster but have reading these boards for over a month now. I am the Director of Golf at Lake Hickory CC in Hickory, NC and we just finished converting an old billiards room in our men's locker room into an indoor hitting room.I decided to go with the Skytrak unit and I have to say I have been very impressed with the numbers and accuracy of this unit. Outside of a few syncing issues discussed on this board I have found the numbers and distances to be very accurate, including drivers! Let me first start off by saying that when I started hitting balls I thought the yardages were a bit on the short side but as I got use to hitting in a closed environment (indoors), my yardages started to increase to where I thought they should be. Let's face it, there is nothing natural about swinging indoors especially with a screen 8 feet in front of you. My tendency was to hang back and not complete my follow through. After a while I got comfortable with hitting into an impact screen and my yardages increased. As far as drivers go, all I can say is I have not had any issues with low/ bad numbers. As far as my room set-up goes, we have just two track lights shining down onto the hitting mat so the room is not dark but it is not bright either. I am using an EZ Tee Poly mat and I sit the unit directly onto the mat. This is the same mat we use on the back of our driving range and I have been pleased with it. I am really looking forward to the PGA show next week and keeping my fingers crossed that simulation with TGC or PG is available sooner rather than later.

Ok numbers
Pw 96. 28. 6760. 124/126 perfect
9i. 100. 25.4. 6018. 134/138
8i. 105. 23.8. 4993. 150/156
7i. 111. 22. 4288. 160/168
6i. 117. 18.7. 4600. 173/180
5i. 121. 15.0. 3765. 179/190
4i 123. 14.1. 3573. 185/197
3i. 126. 13.0. 3667. 189/200
2i. 129. 14.0. 3322. 198/211
3hybrid 134. 16.6. 3800. 212/223
2hyb. 135. 16.3. 3091. 220/233
3wood 147. 15.6. 3200. 230/245
Driver. 150. 14.1. 3300. 242/259
The numbers are great up to 5 iron and then it just slowly gets further from what i see on the golf course. 2 iron carry 198 real life over 220. 3hybrid carry 212 real life 227. 2 hybrid. Carry 220 actually 238. 3wood carry 230 real life 251. Driver carry 242 real life over 270. Driver total distance 259 last year avg 292. The crazy thing was when i got into the clubs that don't match up with what i see on the course i kept increasing my swing speed. I would say i was swinging 100% and they were short. On the course my distances are based on swinging at 80% and are longer? ??????? Do i have willymakit's unit? ???
Gc2 i get many drives over 300 some over 325. On my unit there is no way. If i blew my left nut i might chase one to 270! Welcome any input? I don't have to put much effort on the gc2 to get ball speeds over 160 with my high 181. I can't get it to 160 for sure I'm lucky to hit 155 on my unit. Any recommendations?

Based on my Titleist 2016 fitting guide those numbers are correct. With ball speed of 150 and a launch angle of 14.1 with 3300 spin 242/259 matches up with what the fitting guide says. There is no way with only 150 ball speed you are hitting 300 yard drives unless your fairways are rock hard and hitting down wind. Not trying to be mean but those numbers just don't add up to 300+ yard drivesLast edited by AUfanHKY; 01-24-2016, 03:49 AM.

Agreed they don't add up to 300yds. Therefore 150 ball speed isn't correct. Or ive lost a lot of ball speed in the last 4 months. Or the driving range and my laser rangefinder are incorrect. Since im confident in the range yardages and my laser range finder, Im hoping it is the unit and that I haven't lost that much ball speed since the fall. Im going to hit some drives tomorrow on gc2. If my ball speeds are in the 160s tomorrow, ill have my answer.

If you had mine unit you would know. Lol. You wouldn't even get those distances that your showing with your woods. I am working on trying to transfer my stats from sky golf 360 to some program and have side by side results of when I had my Skytrak with the gc2 numbers. I was looking at both the other night and couple things did stick out for me. For ball speed is at least 10 miles slower on Skytrak then what shows on gc2. and with the high spin I was seeing with the Skytrak. But when comparing the irons they were almost identical. So not sure why the woods be different.

Not sure what to believe. Took my skytrak to my kids' golf lesson this morning. Its at the indoor range at our local social club. The pro brought his flightscope X2. Huge bulky unit that sits behind the player like a trackman. He said it was an old unit that requires the specific club be selected and we were using balls that were marked up to help the flightscope pick up the spin. That's what the pro said. Myself and another parent also there for his child's lesson hit 6 irons using my skytrak and the flightscope.
Each of us hit our own 6irons about 5 times with both devices going at once. Both of us can only draw a ball. I can't hit a fade unless I make a huge effort. In all cases skytrak showed a greater draw than flightscope and our shots were always 10 yards or so longer with skytrak.
On average the other dad and I were hitting 180-190 total yards 6irons that registered, as I said, 10 yards shorter on the flightscope.
Admittedly IRL a 190yard 6iron is highly unusual for me. 175-180 is more like it. Is it possible that skytrak exaggerates draw spin and overstates distances? I know very well that on the e6 demo a hard draw results in absurdly long shots, but I didn't think skytrak outside of e6 did that as well.

Seth told us about that a few month ago. The app keeps counting time as long as it's open, even in the Background and not in use. It doesn't matter if your st is connected or even on. The app is open, it's counting time. I had one 200 hour Session hahahahaha. Since i found out about that i always make sure i close the app right away when i'm done.

Mine has over 2,000 hours as well. But I think what these guys are complaining about is that the hours on their units were logged some 6+ months before they bought their unit...
Actually thinking about it some more - SkyTrak really needs to fix all these things ASAP. Customers paying $2k for a product should rightfully expect the hours log to work properly (not don't worry about it as sometimes it logs hours if app is on even if the unit is turned off - how are we then able to tell how frequently-used our units have been esp for people who bought demo or 2nd hand units?), and the battery meter to work properly (not don't worry about the meter as it will only show max charge of ~70% - again what if the battery we got is really defective and how would we know?). Imagine if car makers tell their customers "oh don't worry about the odometer or the gas meter, they're usually wrong so just ignore it"?Last edited by doublebogey; 01-24-2016, 02:56 PM.

That is exactly right doublebogey - and I paid close to 3k (in Canada) for a new unit. Have asked Skytrak support on phone if my unit was new or a demo and was told it was new.
So when I see 2200 hours I think hmmmmn that is an awful lot of testing.....
Anyways just curious if any folks who have a "properly" working unit would be so kind as to check their history as well to see if they also have a ton of hours on their units several months before they purchased it.
This may not prove anything, maybe everyone's unit will show a similar result. But I am certainly curious as to what is going on.
Thanks!

Turn the unit on, then open up the Skytrak software. The hit the little face tab in upper right and stats should be one of the options to choose (it is middle of three options - history and about are the other two). This way you can access session history. Mine opened up in weeks so I changed it to months in the little tab in the upper right to see how far back the usage went.
Just confirmed this is to do it again.Last edited by Scyukon; 01-24-2016, 06:23 PM.

Seth has stated that the strange history log is a software bug that hasn't yet been fixed. Check out this thread from last month: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...ions-and-hours

So that is bizarre. Mario checked and his starts on the day he started using the unit. Mine started in June.
I think I am going to wipe out my software and start over, yet again.

Not calculated parameters, like carry, but those that are measured.
To my knowledge, no one has done this....have they? Seems like it's more the other way around, where they prove to themselves that they are indeed swinging differently indoors.
People shouldn't be offended by this too since everyone new to sim'in does it, you are indeed hitting a golf ball indoors!

Gc2 avg 5mph increase in ball speed vs ST. Gc2 avg about 600 less rpm. ST avg driver 257yds long drive 275. Gc2 avg drive 290 long drive 317. Last year my avg was 293.

I called skytrak support and they said my unit was new of course but they didn't have a good explanation of why it had 1900 hours on it registered 6 months earlier. They just said it was an error on their end and they would fix it. I'm not sure I'm a believer but my unit rocks and i trust it 100% now. I don't have any intention to send it back and no regrets picking it over the more expensive options.

Hey coz . I just spoke with Cory here at the show who directed me to this thread. If you look up on this page, it references another thread about the same issue. Fear not, it's nothing to do with the unit. It has to do with the account and is just a bug - probably having those defaults overwriting the actual. I may just disable Stats for the next release because we have been doing an enormous amount of database work and it will affect how all that displays, maybe how that bug got in there in the first place. Thanks for calling it to my attention!
