    Skytrak hardware questions

Haven’t purchased LM yet but looking hard at Skytrak. Perhaps I can get some questions answered on the forum.

Is the USB on the unit 2.0 or 3.0? If I plan on using it attached to PC with USB and need a longer cable, will it still work? I have seen some negative comments about the USB cable reliability.

Can I just leave the unit powered at all times? I plan on using indoors and don’t want to run out of battery at the crucial moment….

Short warranty period (6 months with an option to purchase 6 more). Has anyone had their ST for a year or more? Any warranty issues?

Putting? Several comments about putting not working with TGC. True? I see videos on youtube where the user is putting.

    Thanks for the help!

    I believe it's USB 2.0

The length of the cable is limited by USB properties like any other device. I believe outside 14 feet or so you will need. USB booster.

Yes you can leave powered in all the time.

I have had mine going on 3 years now.

    Putting absolutely works with TGC

Thank you for answering. Can't wait to take the leap and purchase SK with TGC. I see you have both E6 and TGC. Do you have a preference?

I use mine with a 25' usb cable extension with no issues. I was preorder and received end of November 2014. Putting works on TGC, but there is a learning curve for reading greens and putting. I would TGC every time over E6, although E6 does have some better features at this moment.

I second this. I have a 35' extension usb cable to my garage. Played 30 or so holes in TGC today and had maybe 3 misread putts. Some courses have some tough greens, if the speed is "green" or flat it's not tough, but when the speed is faster like "red" it is a challenge to get use to.
