  • TGC Putting, Pitching, and Chipping

Finally got my sim working and have been playing some rounds and my scores have been way above my real HC mainly because I cannot figure out these aspects of the game. I am either too short or too long. I did not see a thread dedicated to this aspect of the game and just wondered from those of of you who have figured it out how long it took and any advice on things I can do to get better at it. In real life, it's the better part of my game so I know it is not that I am just bad at it. Software is tricky to figure out.

The thing that has worked best for me in in putting is knowing how far your mat is to the screen (for me its 9 feet) and instead of thinking along the lines of hitting a 36ft putt Ill think of it more like I have to hit 4 screen lengths worth and adjust from there. It has been a decent visualization technique for me at least

Keep in mind 7% off for rough, 13% off for heavy rough and 50% for green side bunker. Get used the the number. 10-20-30-40ect. Play the number. There's no feel in a sim. It'll get easier.

Also if putting from the fringe you must hit it a little harder. Whatever the distance is, it's not like being on the green. So I usually add 5 feet more to the distance I'm trying to hit. That seems to work. Otherwise your putt from fringe will come up way short if you don't add a little distance.
