Hotkey/alignment controller

I'm thinking about creating a controller where I can easily adjust alignment, and have several of the major hotkeys for a sim (probably Perfect Golf). Has anyone hacked up a keyboard or a USB controller to make anything? I think something that could be tapped with a club or foot might be nice.. or maybe just a simple button box mounted up higher is the way to go. I'm mostly interested in seeing what others have come up with!

I use the mentioned app but also have a triple usb foot pedal

Mine has 3 buttons I use two for left / right aim and the middle one I use as enter button.

Those are my most used keys so its cool to be able to just use my club to push the buttons.

I originally was trying to find these buttons from the image below. I couldn't find them in one piece like that. Would have been cool to have 5 or 6.

I think you can find buttons like this and try and build something yourself.
Let us know if you come up with anyting better.

I'm pretty decent with electronics, so I think I'm going to take a sacrificial USB controller and build a button box for the floor with some oversized buttons that you can hit with a club. I'm not sure when I'll get to it, but I'll post pictures of the final product once I do (and maybe even a tutorial if I'm feeling ambitious).

That would be sweet, was looking into this stuff myself as well but dont have the skills with electronics. Either way definitely post pictures if you do it, would love to see what you come up with

Search Amazon for Easyget LED Arcade DIY. I bet it would be kind of easy to build a little wooden platform that you could mount those buttons to so you can press them with your club.

You're right.. arcade buttons would be perfect! I have some time next weekend.. Maybe I'll give this a go if PG isn't out by then (if it is, I'll probably be busy playing).

You mean Like this? I made this for my optishot but you can bet as soon as I get perfect golf it will be used for it. May have to make a new one with more useful keys because there is really no use for keys to swap clubs.

How did you do the labels?

The labels are simply a sticker I got from hobby lobby that is paper based. It feels kinda like vinyl but it's not. I did the labeling then put several thick coats of clear coat over the whole thing to embed the labels and protect them.

I know this thread is super old, but curious how did you figure out the programming for the buttons or what other hardware/software did you use? I'm looking to build one of these for Skytrak
