For Version 2.4 - possible to get a list of "planned" features / changes ??

Looking forward to the new version, is there any list of planned changes that can be shared...
---- There is a MAJOR assumption, this is a PLANNED list with no guarantee that they will be implemented in this version release

For example, from the Future enhancement list, only of the following coming??
- Add ball height apex and decent angle
- Remove club head speed (its calculated and worthless to have taking up screen real estate)
- Change frame display rate to a lower value to improve performance

They have been saying apex and descent angle would be added since before Halloween. I would think this wouldn't be a tough add on since it has to already be in the algorithm somewhere to calculate the flight and distance of the ball. They only seem to be concerned with the simulation part of the updates.

I'm sorry, but to charge for a "Club Fitting Package" by adding apex and descent...?? I love my Skytrak. Despite the beta testing that's gone on, since its inception. Ok, make it part of the "Game Improvement Package", if they must, but to create yet another tier for profit...? Grrrrrrrrr!!! The GIP term is quite ironic in and of itself, as it is. The purpose of the Skytrak unit is game improvement at its very core. Let's not get over the top greedy. A club fitting Package would need to include far more than apex/descent to come anywhere close to creating another subscription level. And, I'm not so sure the unit is capable of much more than just that. If they weren't thinking about another package before, they surely will be after the previous comment... Let's hope they put some careful thought into this one!

Au contraire, don't remove clubhead speed, even if calculated! It's useful for comparing shots against each other for relative change, even if it may not be objectively as absolutely accurate as if it were measured rather than calculated. Perhaps, instead, functionality which allows a user to select what data is displayed from a menu of various available measurements and calculations, so each user can choose to display only that data which s/he finds personally valuable.

Agree to keep club head speed. Usually a reasonably accurate calculation. And you def know when it's off on certain shots which then you can just ignore.

Speaking of estimating metrics, I've been wondering if swing path could be estimated somewhat. For example, I have a lot of shots that start straight and draw, say with 8 degree spin axis. Couldn't the amount of in-to-out path be estimated?

Unfortunately you can't accurately estimate club data from only ball data.

Just like it estimates clubhead speed off of a fixed and ideal smash factor; it could simulate path and clubhead angle at impact based on an ideal center hit shot. For example if you hit a shot that starts right of target 10 ft and draws back to the target line you know that 90% of the influence of the initial direction is clubhead angle at impact. So clubhead is open to target line but closed to path. It would not always be accurate but neither is clubhead speed.

Sorry Swarm99, I have to disagree with you on this one. You have swing path and face to path at impact, both have an effect. Then you have strike. So if you hit maybe 7mm towards the heel and 3mm high on face, have a swing path of 5deg out to in and then the face closed to path by 2.5deg. What would be the outcome? My point being is that it would be completely inaccurate and worthless.

I'm not sure I'd ask Skytrak to include this but I'd like to get a general idea of what's going on. There's nothing similar to flightscope optimizer, or just some rough algebra, charts, etc, to do this? I'm also kind of curious about the details of what's going on - the reasons why it can't be done - more just for curiosity.

I don't believe dispersion circle that adjust dynamically will be in that version, but there will be something similar.

Do you mind elaborating a little on what that would look like and how it might function? Foresight certainly has this and it is excellent for club fittings and seeing how you are performing. It then helps with course management and has real life benefits in understanding your swing. I really would urge that this is included in a future release.
