I have a high powered laptop that I can set-up anywhere with my Net Return. I also have a basement area with a gaming PC. They both have Perfect Golf installed via Steam. I'd like to play PG with my SkyTrak on both setups interchangeably, would it be possible to just purchase the PG simulation package just once to use on both setups? (in other words, I'm hoping the license check occurs via my SkyTrak rather than my PC/laptop)
Yes, your PG license is written to your SkyTrak unit. While some of our other sim partners' licenses are specific to each computer, I'm pretty sure PG treats it differently since it is through steam and only checks for the provisioned SkyTrak unit, so I believe you would be fine for both locations. Check with PG to make sure though!
From my understanding, you still need to buy the PG license through Steam for $19.99. What you buy through the SkyGolf store is your course packages for use with SkyTrak.
Okay. I'm a little slow. I made the purchase and got everything downloaded and installed, but when I turn it on it wants me to play with a PC gaming joystick and not skytrak. What did I do wrong?
Back at the office and got the app going. Got the spinning wheel of death saying checking licenses files. I'm hoping that means the license files are being added to the device.
Just purchased and tried PG for the first time. Looks great but only seems to work for a couple of shots and then loses the red dot. I can get the dot to return by switching to putting mode, then back to normal mode but it only works for a couple of more shots. Tried both USB and Network mode with the same results. My setup works fine with the Skytrak range.
FWIW: It appears PG has a little more roll out on the range making the distances more consistent with what I see IRL.
Just tried again. Took 30 swings on the range and only needed to use the 'Arm' button once. Had a couple of 'no reads' but no more than I see on the SkyTrak range.
Do you get software sent like the golf club as just bought subscription via sky trak website and already have perfect golf but can't switch to simulator options in the game. Any ideas please?
I think I hear the CEO's of the big simulator companies crying. Software and products everyone can afford with the accuracy everyone wants. It's amazing.

When I decidedly wanted a sim, I called a few big companies. They all said 35-50k. They used the word custom on everything. The market is getting better.
I was quoted 40k for something inferior to what I've set up myself for about half the price. The only question now is if enough people have the patience and skill set to do it themselves.
Alright, I'm having some troubles connecting the SkyTrak to the PG app. I'm selecting the controller as ST, but I'm not getting the console to come up to connect..?
I selected both wifi and USB. I'm able to connect to the SkyTrak app via wifi, and made sure to sync. I've never been able to connect via just USB (did I miss that we now could?). I tried restarts, but nothing is working. Help is great appreciated!
I did definitely play around with the 'controller' settings, setting it to something other than sim, clicking through all the options, restarting the app, etc. It never loaded any sort of console.
I went into one of the menus (pro shop) and did a search for simulation, or something similar. It actually came up with a simulation thing, and showed mine as active within PG. I thought that meant I was good, but maybe not.
I also went into the ST app and made sure my unit was registered. It was.
I checked the ST page and it does properly show the PG membership.. I'm going to start a live chat to see if someone can help me out, but I'm not near the unit
Count me in. Just completed the purchase and tomorrow after work I'm gonna install and try PG to see if the yearly fee is worth it. I haven't figured out TGC fully yet but I have to admit I am curious to see what the fuss is all about and mostly if PG feels more like real golf. Review to follow.
Wow! I can't believe how good this is. Even though I had done a lot of reading up I still wasn't quite prepared for how well it plays. I mean this is just like the real thing it's amazing! I'm sure I'd be just as excited if I had bought TGC given that my only sim experience to date had been E6 and the ST app, but I'm glad I held out for Perfect Golf. It's good to compare TGC and Perfect Golf as healthy competition means we the consumers are the winners. PG is feature rich and the devs are constantly adding functionality while TGC adds thousands of courses so it depends what you prefer really.
