  • Skytrak no longer taking a charge?

    Has anyone else had this happen? I've had it for just over a year, played this past weekend. No impact to the Skytrak or anything and now for whatever reason it won't charge at all. No lights, nothing... left it plugged in (micro usb B plugged into a wall socket block) all night and still nothing. I turn it on and it immediately goes three red lights and shuts off.

    Has anyone had and resolved? Thanks.

    Does the yellow charging light on the bottom come on at all when you plug it in or just nothing at all no matter how you plug it in or wiggle the cord?

      You have tried both the usb and the wall charger?

        If yellow light is showing up it is charging. If not, you may have a connection issue. Change cable, charger, wiggle the entry point etc.

          Yea I've tried four cables and two other power blocks... no lights at all. Tried angling the plug-in to no avail as well. Very frustrating, can't even get their support to answer the phone or actually respond on live chat. Fairly certain the warranty is a year so it's probably just outside of it now... oof.

            Warranty only 6 months unless you paid $99 for 6 months of additional extended warranty. I feel for you - your experience is making me, and I'm sure other SkyTrak owners as well, fret if something were to go wrong w our units outside warranty period.

          I had this problem. They fixed the mini usb port for me no problem. Took a week and a half or so for it to get shipped there and shipped back fixed.

              I just called skygolf when I had the problem. It was a very simple process and they were very helpful. They fixed it at no cost.

            Did you get this resolved with support? If not, just let me know. Sounds like it may be a connection problem as others have said - pretty simple fix.

              Yes, thanks Nick and Seth. Took a couple of tries but managed to get a hold of support via phone and they were very helpful. Going through the return/diagnose/repair process now.

                  I have a two week old skytrak and i can not get the battery icon all green it goes halfway and thats it even when i charge all night and turn on and play plugged in am i missing something.

                    Since it's two weeks old, I'd assume it's on the latest firmware....but just double check what firmware it's on and post back. Has it ever fully charged since you got it? Older firmwares had bugs that didn't show the battery fully charged....that has since been fixed though.

                      Following on from what N54TT said, I just received my SkyTrak and it was on an old firmware.
                      You can check the firmware version by clicking on the menu button just under the battery level indicator in the top right corner, then pressing 'About'.
                      The latest firmware version is currently 1.500. If it isn't this version you may need to download the older version of the SkyTrak PC software to get it to update like I had to. Check out my thread about it here: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...e-not-updating

                        Post #5 on that thread is where you will get the link for the older SkyTrak PC software that I used to update my SkyTrak's firmware to the latest version 1.500.
                        Hi, I just received my SkyTrak and the firmware seems to be not updating. I have not contacted SkyGolf support yet but will if nothing fruitful comes from here

                          Yeah, I ran into this the other day - v2.4.1 was not reading the battery level correctly. I found it was because the unit was still on 1.4 firmware. I am now looking into why v2.4.1 is not prompting the firmware upgrade as v2.4 did. As someone mentioned, you can use v2.4 on PC to upgrade the firmware. I'd rather not put out an iOS hotfix now being so close to another update. I'll just make sure it's taken care of in there. If you notice that you are not on 1.5 firmware and need help with an upgrade, please just let me know.
