    Rattle in my ST box

So today I was cleaning up the mess I make in the garage when I'm using my Skytrak. I picked the box up and turned it to unplug the USB when I heard a rattle inside.

It sounds like a a tiny something is inside the box. I'm not sure how concerned I should be. The Skytrak seems to work fine as I had just played three rounds on TGC.

I don't know how something could have broke off as I have never dropped it or bumped it, and it only moves from the shelf where it charges to the ground where I use it.

Should I be concerned? I've barely had it a month so far.

If it was me I would return it and ask for a new unit. Although it maybe working perfectly now if its metal rattling around it could easily short something out in there rendering the device unusable and then you will be left with a unit that doesn't work and isn't under warranty. Or reach out the them and ask for an extension on the warranty at their expense.

Thanks, I'm going to give them a call tomorrow and talk to them about my options. I'd hate to spend this kind of money for the unit to go down and there be nothing I can do.

Called them this morning. I'm sending it back to have it looked at. They said I'd get a shipping label via email today, but never saw it so I'll have to call them again tomorrow. Looking back, I realize they never asked for any of my info?

Yeah, normally I'd say as long as it works then don't worry about it. But since you just got it, I would recommend getting that taken care of while it is still under warranty. Never know what it could be and how it could affect things down the road.

Thanks, Skytrak. I got the shipping label so I'll be sending it back tomorrow. It'll stink missing some practice time and some rounds on the TGC Spring Tour, but better safe than sorry! The wife will be happy to have me as a functioning member of the family for a while hahaha
