New Syncing Issue after Upgrading to v2.4.1

    SkyTrak_Seth / Seth,

After upgrading to v2.4.1, I'm having a new type of sync issue now.

    - After upgrading to v2.4, have had no issues syncing using my iPad Mini or my iPhone 6.
    - After upgrading v2.4.1, I have had no issues syncing using my iPad Mini using only Network Mode.
    - My iPhone 6 has no issues syncing from the SkyGolf 360 cloud either (i.e., Network Mode sessions using my iPad Mini syncs to the SkyGolf 360 cloud and syncs back to my iPhone 6 History).
    - HOWEVER, today after I used my iPhone 6 in DIRECT MODE for first time since upgrading to v2.4.1, shots from this latest Direct Mode sessions shows up locally on the iPhone 6 app's History, but when put back into Network Mode, it goes into "SYNC IN PROGRESS" forever and does not sync this latest Direct Mode session onto the SkyGolf 360 cloud?
    - I left the iPhone 6 in "SYNC IN PROGRESS" all night but it's just stuck there? There is no problem w the SkyGolf 360 cloud as I was able to get "DATA SYNCED" when using my iPad Mini.

So looks like there is continual problem/issue w SkyTrak properly syncing when/after using Direct Mode. Hope you can help shed some light on what might be the problem here and how to fix. Thanks very much in advance.

UPDATE: After finishing a session today w my iPad Mini (in network mode) which syncs to SkyGolf 360 cloud w no issues, I was able to get my iPhone 6 direct mode sessions to sync to SkyGolf 360 cloud. So the direct sessions mode shots show up in SkyGolf 360 and in my iPad Mini app's History after I synced once more. However in my iPad Mini SkyTrak app, when you click on the green icon, the number of shots and % of shots hitting greens show up but the yardage for each target is "0 yards"? On my iPhone 6 the target green yardages show up. So must be something corrupt w direct mode session using target greens, i.e., target green distances, when syncing to SkyGolf 360 cloud?

I'm not aware of any sync issues, but let me look into this. I'll report back in a few hours.

Just to make sure, have you tried hard closing and reopening the app with internet? Does that sync it?

A few days later I managed to get it to sync, but the bug I've found is that the "DISTANCE YDS" (first column from left when you click on the green icon) for a particular session only shows up on the device you used to connect to SkyTrak for that particular session. But when you try to sync shot history from the cloud using another device (i.e., another iPad or iPhone) which you did not use to connect to SkyTrak for that particular session, the "DISTANCE YDS" show up as "0". This happens irregardless whether you used network mode or direct mode for the sessions.

So for example, if I use my iPad Mini 2 to hit some balls w target greens, the target green "DISTANCE YDS" show up under HISTORY in my iPad Mini 2 ST app; but if I sync that session's data onto my iPhone 6 ST app from the cloud, the target green "DISTANCE YDS" show up as "0" under the iPhone 6 ST app's HISTORY. And vice-versa if I use my iPhone 6 (instead of iPad Mini 2) to hit balls w target greens.

Thanks, doublebogey !! That's a great find. I was able to reproduce and will slip a fix into the next release.

Just FYI, if you guys ever have any trouble getting data to sync regardless of which mode you are in, try just hard-closing the app and reopening with an internet connection.

I recently purchased the Sky Trak and was able to immediately connect it to my iPad. After a couple of tries I was able to get the Sky Trak "connected" to my home network...however I have not been able to get it connected past the solid yellow stage. The Sky Trak would blink red, then red/yellow, then yellow and then go solid yellow but would get stuck at that stage. I have restarted the app, the iPad and the SkyTrak with the same results. Any recommendations?

Cubsmjy , can you start a new thread and I'll address it in there? Sounds like you just need to connect your iPad back to the network (which should make it work), or you have a guest network (which won't work at all). But it's best to keep issues specific to the thread title so it can help others down the road.

SkyTrak_Seth / Seth, another potential syncing bug I might have found. So I let some neighbor's kids come over and hit some balls (of course for safety sake using AlmostGolf balls and only kid hitting can be anywhere near hitting mat and everyone else must stand behind a certain line far away - handling 4 kids and making sure they don't run over and get hit by another kid w golf club is a real pain; thank god their housekeeper came over to help watch over these kids) and set up a session with no club selected and no target green either. The session of course shows up on iPad used during session, but does not show up on SkyGolf 360 cloud or iPhone once synced to cloud. However my previous session just hours ago (before the kids came over) which had club selections and target greens selected does sync to SkyGolf 360 cloud and shows up on my iPhone once that's synced to cloud. FYI both my iPad and iPhone says "DATA SYNCED" so it's not a hanging at "SYNC IN PROGRESS" thing. Of course had tried closing app (on both iPad and iPhone) and open again to re-sync but that no club / no target green session still not syncing to cloud. Any possibility sessions without any club selected AND no target green selected will not sync to SkyGolf 360 cloud properly? Thanks.

Very strange, but I do that all the time without issue. We did find that something was missing on the web service side (an easy fix that doesn't require any software update) for your first issue. I'll have to check if anything got "broken" related to no club selected. I'll get back in a bit.

Thanks a lot. Not urgent as I don't really need neighbor's kids 20-30 yds shot data =) But just wanted to report in case it was an easy-to-fix small bug so can be fixed in next release.

Just confirmed that I was able to do this successfully several times yesterday and today. Very strange indeed.
