  • Is anyone using Skytrak with E6?

I thought I saw something recently that it was finally released. What's everyone's input on this setup? E6 to me seems like the way to go.

I would think that JNPG would be the better route if you're opting for the subscription plan. I believe you get access to more courses and better graphics at a cheaper cost.

wbond, I actually have PG now with a GC2. PG is pretty cool for playing courses, but it is VERY hard on the gpu/cpu, plus it doesn't really have all the features of a true golf simulator.
I tested the FSX demo and loved it because of the "combine" type practice, along with setting different targets on the driving range. PG is probably better for courses (eventually once more get made), but I'm looking for something a bit better for practice.

FYI- a new 10-hole combine-style course has been created in PG. Regarding the gpu/cpu, I wouldn't say it's hard on my GTX970 / i7 4790k at all. (though e6 would definitely tax it less.)

Are you talking about Woody's practice arena, or is it something newer?

Don't get me wrong I do like PG, but it just doesn't have the same feel as FSX did. I'm thinking E6 is closer to fsx than PG is.

My disk arrived today and had a couple of hours on it but went back to tgc. Not convinced with distances either as seemed to be well short on the range compared to skytrak range and tgc. The boost function doesnt seem to work either.

Newer. It's called "OhGeeTee Combine" on the courses page, and was released a few days ago.

I finally got e6 running after an hour with e6 remote access to my computer to update the expired dongle and then showing proof of my SkyGolf purchase so that an appropriate expiration date could be set...jeez! Then found that to connect the skytrak I had to connect it via the skytrak app, then close the app, the open e6. Lots of experimenting. Now I have all of e6, Perfect golf and TGC. I expect that within six months, I will have played all enough to say which are 1, 2, and 3 in my choices.

I would blame SkyGolf for my snafus...not notifying e6 of my purchase...from June 24 order and pay through today.

I like the e6 display...it looks more crisp, but I still need to run through all the simulators.

Sounds a bit annoying there to say the least, but definitely looking forward to your review and comparison of the 3. You may be the only one with all 3 right now

Thank you Ironstrokes. I like the PerfectGolf connection scheme in that you get to see the progress and the eventual success. I found a use for the iPad Air and its stand...makes good videos of me and the simulator. I considered getting a drone, for which the iPad would be perfect, but my neighbor got one and the sound is abhorrent! Looks dangerous too...like you could slice your carotid artery.

Haha those drone do look like they could tear someone up (Mythbusters actually did an episode on their ability to hurt someone, cant remember the results though), but they are awesome anytime you see them in youtube videos or anything. Havent messed with any yet personally but its amazing how easy I hear they are to work and go and film whatever you want, When you first wrote "I considered getting a drone", i was thinking......how the heck is he gonna use a drone in his simulator, but id love to see it hahaha.

driverdivots...no sir, I don't think it can run on an iPad. As soon as I was sure of SkyTrak's capabilities and saw that good simulators were coming out, I found and bought a high end gaming PC...Intel 7 processor, 16 gB of DDR4 memory, and NVidia GTX 970 graphics with 4 gB video ram. It can also support the Oculus virtual reality stuff. I haven't found any limitations yet.
