  • Recommended sun shades for iPad used outside in the sun?

I use my SkyTrak on the range in protective case, with my iPad mounted on a tripod. I strongly recommend the case, as the first time I used
my SkyTrak, I hit the case while taking a practice swing too close to the ball 8^).

The SkyTrak doesn't have any problem registering shots, but the iPad screen is very difficult to see in bright sunlight.

Has anyone found a sun shade which works will with the iPad and a tripod?

I was thinking about getting something like this Summitlink sun shade: https://goo.gl/AHqdaT
It has a tripod mount and collapsible sunshade and looks promising.

Amazon sells lots of sun shades, but many do not look like they would work with a tripod, depending on your iPad tripod holder.
I currently have this adjustable tablet holder: https://goo.gl/3lW3Dm

I was wondering what folks who use SkyTrak and iPad at the range recommend. Do people use tripods, put their iPad on the ground?

Does it help to put a small cardboard on top of SkyTrak to shade the lens from the sun?

I used an extra music stand that I had laying around the house.

I've also been looking for ways to get the iPad more readable in sunlight. I've been considering a sun shade off Amazon that they use for ipad for drone controllers. I've also looked into anti glare screen protectors used by pilots, but they seem to get mixed reviews.

I ended up buying a Hoodivision Padhat Air for my iPad: http://www.hoodivision.com/#!products-new/cpce

They're not available on amazon, so I didn't come across them until I did a general search on the net. They are also popular with the drone controller crowd.
And it will work with the iPad tripod mount which I already use. I bought the Padhat Wing Strut accessory which reinforces the Padhat Air in windy conditions.
