Connecting skytrak to tv

Quick question-

I'm hoping to display my skytrak/WGT on my tv in my garage. I'd prefer not to do an hdmi cable hookup. Would Apple TV work to wirelessly mirror what's happening on my iPad to my tv? If not would it work if I bought a smart tv or would it not work because of the same principle?

Apple TV works, but mine was connected via an HDMI cord from Apple TV to TV.

I used the driving range on an ipad and then apple tv (3Gen refurb at walmart's website) for $40 or so. Works fine, though the app isn't optimized for apple tv, so I see the side bars making the image correction.

But it works fine. I may end up buying a cheap PC so I can run a sim, and then I'll bypass the apple tv with a computer HDMI out.
