  • SkyTrak Levelling (with case)

I've finally got a case sorted and I have the problem of the bubble level not display level as the same as the software (out by 2deg roll left). I recall this coming up before, but couldn't find it searching the forum. SkyTrak_Seth I presume we go with what the software considers level and not the actual bubble level, is this correct?

I don't think you can see two degrees on the bubble.

A quick check suggests that you can pretty much see 1/2 degree per bubble alignment circle I think. So if the centre of the bubble is on the first circle its 1/2 deg and second bubble is 1 deg. I know we're into noise at this point, I just wondered what was better, we only see the resolution of integer degrees, but I presume that the software calculates at a higher resolution from the accelerometer than that. I know its tolerant to 5 degrees, but was interested really as what is the gold standard. Based on what i've written I think i've talked myself into the bubble being better.
SkyTrak_Seth it would be nice to have a calibration feature for level should people want to check it against an inclinometer? You could always have the option to reset to factory settings so people couldn't go too far wrong without going back to something that works?

I have the same problem with my ST. The bubble is well outside the first circle on the level when the ST internal level claims to have 0 degrees of tilt. I'm curious as to what the official recommendation is.

I found ZERO in the software and then put a dot from a sharpie in the middle of the bubble. That in now my ZERO reference.
