  • bets sim experience

out of the sims currently available on the ST, in everyone opinion what is the most played / gives best sim experience... TGC, WGT, TRU GOLF, JNPG in terms of screen outlay, customisation etc
all have slight different look, all have a subscription fee... what works best with a PC? weighing up what to fork out the $$$ on

TGC.....I was holding out of JNPG, but glad I pulled the trigger on TGC.

TGC , JNPG, Trugolf and WGT that would be the order i would put them in. Happy TGC user ! By the way, there is no subsription fee for TGC if you buy it outright. Truegolf E6 also has that option. JNPG and WGT are the only two you can't one time purchase. TGC and truegolf have a subscription option. However you need the GIP from skygolf for all of them.

I'm not a SkyTrak user but play both JNPG and TGC. Love them both. I slightly prefer JNPG course dynamics, ball bounce/run on fairway and around greens. I would say TGC is slicker, with great commentary and ghost play. Preference on graphics is very personal and you can make your own mind up from videos etc. JNPG has support for different tee boxes which can be very important or not at all depending on your use case.
Lucky to say both products are great with great tours (thanks ProTee) and you'll enjoy whichever you go with, or both Others can hopefully advise on any SkyTrak specific differences between the two.

awesome, thanks guys... i was leaning towards TGC... all the other games seem quite good also, and the interface is all different. i think the skytrak has the most polished from what i have seen. protee looks slightly aged when it gives you the swing data as opposed to skytrak... but thats purely user interface, not accuracy of the sim itself.

I was unable to find an outright purchase for e6. Is this really an option? Is there a link somewhere?

Thinking about purchasing JNPG. I see the course list on Skytraks website but the next option up says there are a bunch of courses but does not list anything. Anyway have a good list of courses that comes with that package?
              thanks

TGC is the way to go in my opinion based on great playability.

For all those running TGC.... Seems like you need to be a computer person to get it to run ! Is anybody using it on a laptop anyone could purchase at Best Buy or do I need to have something custom made ????

You just need a very good video card. nvidia 970 is recommended. To find a laptop with that capability will cost big dollars. Best to spent $1100 on a dedicated sim computer. you do not need to be a computer expert.

I'm running it fine on a new Dell Alienware laptop fitted with a GTX 1080 video card. You can adjust Dell's standard configurations to some extent, so they are what might perhaps be called semi-custom, but you have the benefit of Dell's engineering expertise and support vice having something made up from scratch locally.
