SkyTrak ball speed version 2.52

After updating to the latest version 2.52, The ball speed on my driver went down. I was getting 152 to 160 ball speed and now I can only sometimes get 150. Never above 150. Was something changed in the way it reads ball speed? Anyone else see this?

my radar swing speed is still the same 108- 112 and spin is low 2000 - 2400.

Interesting, I just came on looking for reset instructions because I seem to notice that with all my clubs recently (2.5.1). I just hit a PW that had 32 degree launch angle, but had 90mph clubhead speed and 88mph ball speed. I don't think I've ever seen ball speed less than club speed on an otherwise normal shot.

I often get ball speed slower than club speed on wedge shots...but how does SkyTrak calculate a faster club speed?

ABSOLUTELY nothing has changed regarding image capture, image analysis, measurements, flight model, etc for quite some time.

I put some tape on my driver face and found out I was missing the sweet spot by allot to the inside. Changed my stance and and started hitting the center of the face and the speed came back along with the distance.

Still curious about how you can get a clubhead speed that is higher than a ball speed?

How is clubhead speed calculated by Skytrak?

It's totally possible to have a ball speed lower than club speed with wedge shots because the energy is going into "up" with launch and spin instead of "out" with ball speed. We calculate our club speed by factoring in all of the measured parameters you see along the bottom of the screen, but there's no way to account for a misread. So if you happen to get a club speed higher than ball speed with, say, a driver, then chances are the software misread the spin. Take a look at the back spin and see if it's wonky - if it's like 10,000rpm for a driver, then our software says "well, to generate that much ball speed with that much spin, he must have had to swing this hard."
