    How is the warranty?

I've read 6 months and 50,000 shots? That seems pretty low.

After 50K there is a possibility that it can go bad and we're SOL and have to buy a new one?

The six months is correct unless you pay for the extended warranty for an extra $100 you get six more months. I haven't heard of a shot limit but that may stop it from being warrantied in a commercial application as this is designed as a personal launch monitor. I don't see how you could possibly get to 50K shots in 6 months. That is almost 300 shots per day every day. If you hit that many you probably need to get out on the golf course to play some real golf

Instead of doing the extended warranty, I used my credit card (Discover) which is supposed to be an extra 1 year of warranty on top of the manufacturer's warranty. Hope this holds true if it breaks during month 7.

An option that I went with was obtaining a SquareTrade warranty ( 3 years) for my SkyTrak when I purchased it.
          1. Need to purchase within 30 days
          2. SquareTrade cost tied to the price you paid for SkyTrak
          3. Back in August 2015, my SquareTrade cost was $210 for the three years of coverage

            SquareTrade coverage

SquareTrade Protection Plans covers all mechanical/electrical failures that happen during normal use, such as button failure, depleted (non-replaceable) batteries, and non-responsive charging ports or audio jacks. Plans that include accident protection also cover damage from accidents like drop and spills.

If a protected item is damaged and we determine it can be repaired, we cover 100% of the cost of parts and labor. If your item is irreparable, we’ll contact you to discuss options for replacing your item. Coverage lasts for the term of your plan or until the coverage amount of your plan (generally equal to item purchase price) is used up.

Is the 3 years from date of purchase or 3 years from end of SkyTrak's 6-month warranty? Thanks.

The SquareTrade warranty starts from the the date of purchase...

Did you go with accident forgiveness on it? I'm curious if you need accident forgiveness if you whack a golf ball into it...

I didn't add the "accident forgiveness" option on the purchase. Not really sure if SquareTrade would cover this. You would need to contact them to see......

I bought the extra six months warranty...so, here I am eight months along...got my first near dead battery warning that was for real...my USB connection to the SkyTrak had failed...but works after some jiggling. I have had two USB charging blutooth speakers' USB charging ports fail...where they are apparently attached to the electronic board by only the solder of the leads. Regarding the SkyTrak, I leave it plugged in, a very passive setting, so I would not expect the USB port to become damaged. Have warranty 'till February 17.
