  • Protective case

Well, decided to build a protective sheild today and was so excited to try it out. Got home and it wont read a single shot. Tried to raise the unit to see if i needed to lower the holes or what not and cant get a read. So i attatched a pick so someone that has one working can eye ball it and tell me if i need to raise the holes or lower etc... thank u in advance

i tried to take the pic at a level angle but if u need more let me know

I would start with getting a file and slowly start trying to make the bigger rectangle holes a little bigger on the bottom to extend downward and go from there. There was a little trial and error with mine as well. I just kept making the holes a little bigger at a time until it worked with still not letting a ball through.

How thick is the lexan and do you have the skytrak right up against it?

It's 1/4" lexan and the skytrak is right against it. I plan on adding some 2mm foam strips for extra protection,

I had to enlarge my holes at the bottom to get it to read consistently. Still won't let a ball through.

Alright i'll work on lowering them today. I did slightly and had a few shots read.

Another thing on the instructions it says to remove the film cover on the lense but there was also a big paper with the instructions that said do not remove film. What should i do there

I removed the film cover on the back of the skytrak and left the one in front alone.

did you go with 1/8", 3/8", 1/4" What do you recommend?

          • #9
I went with 1/4" because davrays design was 6mm which comes out to almost 1/4"

Did you make sure you printed out the paper at the correct size and measure the line? I believe it was 50mm or something like that. If not, your holes may have been too small due to incorrect printing size of the paper.

I am pretty sure i did. I unchecked the fit to page which automatically checked original size. I also measured the line which came out to 1 31/32 almost 2" so thats real close to 50mm.

After filing the holes down a ways it started to read shots.

That is strange, hole size must be quite sensitive. I did mine freehand with a dremel and due to that they may have been slightly bigger than the template So far it hasn't missed a shot.

Must be nice. I bet i lowered mine 1/2". It was weird too because i would hit a few shots without the screen to make sure it was working properly. Then i would attatch the screen and it would stop reading. I would then take the screen off and it would still not read until i disconnected and reconnected. Probably bought a lemon haha.
            Working...
