  • Hitting mats (in the UK)

I've been using a fibrebuilt strip which I've been very happy with but now I'm looking to buy something big enough to stand on... my 3 main requirements are as follows....

1 - Mat needs to be forgiving with fat shots (which seems to rule out the CCE)
2 - Would like to be able to roll it up when not in use
3 - Must have a rubber base so it wont move on a hard floor

I don't mind spending a bit but I've found some cheap options on ebay (I'm in the UK) which I'm hoping will do the job.... please see links below:

    - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-FORB-A...QAAOSwPCVX5o8Y
    - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Astroturf-...zgtn1D10d673mQ

Does anyone have any idea why these are so cheap when compared to the CCE, Trustrike etc? Can anyone spot any potential problems with the above 3? And does any one of the 3 stand out as being better quality than the other 2?

www.golfswingsystems.co.uk sell a fibrebuilt full mat. It's about £500 including delivery of I remember correctly.
The things you've linked above all look like cheap rubbish to be honest. The sort of thing that you'd roll up and it remains half rolled when you unroll it. I guess that'll be the same with most rollable mata though - as anything with a good thick base wouldn't roll.
I can lift mine from one edge, and it doesn't bend because it has such a thick rubber base!

The XI Golf Training Practice AstroTurf Mat (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xl-Golf-Tr...oAAOxyF0pThfX9) looks decent and cheap enough to give it a shot? Anyone has any experience or comment on quality of this mat?

You get what you pay for. This has no base, and would be like hitting off a carpet!

I had one like this or very similar when I was hitting outside. They are not great, very thin and have no base so it needs to be fastened to something with padding to soften the blow to the hands and arms
