Hello...I've had Optishot 2 now for about a year now and have really enjoyed it...but I'm looking to get something where I don't have to tape my clubs and is a ball tracker...Is the Skytrak easy to setup and is it much better than the Optishot?

No need to tape clubs with SkyTrak. ST is very simple to set up and use. Put the the ball on or very near a red laser dot generated by the unit, and swing away. If you read through the topics in this forum category, you'll get a good sense of user experiences with the device.

Club taping aside, Optishot 2 is not nearly as accurate as it doesn't measure the ball. Skytrak is much more accurate. It's a true launch monitor. Read more on the forum here. There's tonne of info. Good luck and have fun.

The major reason for my switching from the Optishot 2 to a Skytrak with TGC was not having to dial in my clubs or others clubs when they came by for a round. It is the most annoying part of their system.
Just stepping up and swinging is so much nicer and the accuracy of the Skytrak out of the box is far superior to the Optishot. The price point of the Optishot can't be beat but TGC and Skytrak will provide you a much more accurate and realistic golf simulation.

Yes. I do use a projector Optoma Gt1080 and an impact screen. I'm not sure how or if TGC will run off a MacBook though but I can tell you the experience is much better on TGC vs the Optishot.

All depends on the person. I don't find it to be an issue. I would say all mine are in the 3-4 second range. Hit the ball, pick it up and the shot is going. Others may find it really bothersome not having an almost instant shot to show time. Question for you, is it worth the additional cost to get to less than 1 second. About 4k more unless you go with a protee system.

Optishot vs Skytrak... I've owned both and still own the Skytrak.
no comparison - chalk and cheese. Skytrak is way better.
Shot Delay. I've talked about this before in other posts.. Get the right sort of computer and it isn't an issue. I run the skytrak software on a ex-Gameing PC. Yeah - it has some grunt and a very good graphics card.
Connect the skytrak by USB cable to a USB 3.0 port on the PC directly. Have the PC connected to the internet by ethernet cable for at least a 1gig transfer rate through a dedicated network card.
I don't get anything more than about a 1 to 1.5 second delay - if that.

I have both and play both at the same time. When I hit it well and hit it fat, both optishot and skytrak show very similar distances and flight paths. When you hit it thin optishot can be very misleading. Optshot also doesn't reflect sidespin nearly as accurately either. My real life hooks looks like perfect draws in optishot. With optishot it would not read a shot once out of 15 shots while with skytrak it is more once out of every 50 for me.
I'm keeping the optishot since I think my kids will get a kick out of it and won't have to worry about an errant golf ball flying into the skytrak. Also good to know what my swing path is doing from time to time.
My overall experience is if someone can afford the skytrak with TCG, then definately do it over optishot. If budget is tight then optishot gives a good bang for the buck.My courses:
Aldeen
Butler National
Cantigny
Canyata
Cog Hill #4
Harbor Shores
Harborside
Naperville Country Club
Prairie Landing
Rich Harvest Farms
Ruffled Feathers
Shoreacres
