Skytrak VS Optishot 2

Hello...I've had Optishot 2 now for about a year now and have really enjoyed it...but I'm looking to get something where I don't have to tape my clubs and is a ball tracker...Is the Skytrak easy to setup and is it much better than the Optishot?

Skytrak is a ball tracker and is plug (or wifi) and play. Protee is a club tracker with some ball tracking, but no spin and not plug and play. There is some setup to be done and lighting to be added. I believe protee has pretty much an instant flight.

By time you finish your swing it's about 3 seconds delay. To me I really don't notice it as I try to remain focused on my point of impact.

I have my sky track and I am going through anxiety about doing JNPG or TGC ... To be honest it's a difference in $$$$ ... I have to get a new PC and JNPG looks like it'll run with less and JNPG is also less $$... Where the TGC looks like I would need a beefier PC system and TGC is more $$$... Am I missing something?

TGC needs a better graphics card than JNPG, but the new nVidia 1000 series have dropped the price requirement on that. I think several people are running a 1060 which can be bought for under $200 on sale. You might not get 60 fps at 1080p with all the highest detail settings, but it would certainly still give a nice playing experience. I think you could find a complete computer for around $7-800 that would run TGC.

The thing you may be missing is that JNPG is an annual $250, whereas TGC is $1000 one time. You can also sell your TGC license to someone else if you decide that you don't like it. I think the going rate for used licenses is around $700 based on what aeroburner has been selling lately.

Until I have my sim room setup with a projector, I have been running 720P on a 32" TV. It looks great! I am not sure the "fun" will be much better at 1080P. I think we may go nuts on graphics cards and details etc. If you check out this thread, it might help you understand what the extra horsepower will get you:

I think most people would be happy with 720p if they never saw TGC in 1080P. I haven't seen it in 1080P yet so we will see. I did buy the beefy computer (about $1,200 for an i7 and a gtx 1070 card) and a 1080p projector. Would I have been satisfied and happy with 720p projector and system..... I think I would have.
