The cases are being laser etched today (last process) and I plan to pick them up tomorrow. With no snags, they will be at USPS Monday. That puts global shipments at the Kentucky global shipping hub mid week. From there, I can't say how long from the hub to Italy. I believe it's 6 - 8 days.
Actually DirtyGarry24, have you ever thought about adding a small handle on top of your Armour to make it easier to lug it (w the SkyTrak inside) around given its hefty weight?
I shipped 6 Armour cases yesterday morning. I received the hardware yesterday afternoon and packed the remaining 24 orders. Shipped this morning. What an ass whipping...
My tracking number sent from ebay yesterday still says "waiting for item". Hoping mine was one of them sent out today!!! Excited to get it and post a review. Although there have been some reviews....there were still some questions I had that I'm hoping to cover/clarify/answer for others.
Yours was one of the 24 sent out today. I know this mainly because you requested 3" leveling feet which arrived yesterday with the rest of the hardware. Sent 9:30 AM central. Your tracking should update shortly. I expect you should receive Friday at the latest.
I'll appreciate a review and am confident you are going to be happy with the product. Thanks again!
Very impressed with the armour Gary. Works great. I had no issues with no reads. I think i had 2 in 4 tournament rounds which is less than normal by far.
I agree with the less no reads. Not sure why but to be honest I can'tell remember more than 1 no read since I received the armour. Incredible product and piece of mind. Great work.
gerem1 Thanks again for the kind words. I absolutely love my Armour and at the end of the day am damn glad to have a wonderful piece of steel wrapped around my Skytrak. I mean, that is why this thread was created in the first place. Right?
The thread did not create itself. It was GSF forum members with a true need that drove this thing. Above all else, the thread is still going because of the GSF forum members. And my competitive determination to deliver what was asked for.
doublebogey A handle? Yes, I can put a handle on this thing. However, you're not willing to buy at this point in time. Is a handle going to drive you over the edge?
Please keep in mind fellow members, I'm dealing with several outside agencies. Competition, eBay fees, PayPal fees, hardware costs, shipping costs, and import fees.
Not to mention manufacturing costs that are extremely fair given the above. I can do whatever the hell is asked and more, but the market drives everything. You put it up and I'll deliver...
Competition sells them all day long every day of the week with less. Why? Answer: because it's available and cheap. I digress...
DirtyGarry24, I regret jumping the gun and getting a FMJ (when Armour production was delayed) even though I was a firm believer that the Armour was going to be the better product at the end (as confirmed by all the great reviews). So decided not in hurry to get Armour (maybe next time when I'm in the States to save a little bit on the shipping).
As for the handle, was just a suggestion to make it an even better product overall. With the FMJ (and I'm sure will be same for the Armour + it's even heavier), I find it difficult carrying it around w one hand while carrying my iPad or computer on the other hand setting up to play in my cage. With a handle might just make carrying this thing around easier...
doublebogey I certainly do not regret delaying production. I would have had a huge gaffe on my hands. Delaying production was one of the best moves I've made during this thing. There aren't many. Lol.
I think you can understand where I'm coming from in my rant above, I simply can't add a handle and keep the price the same. I will consider a handle, but that would come at a cost to the consumer. And it would be my guess that a certain someone is now working on a handle of his own.
I totally agree the delayed in production was the right thing to do - as it allowed you to provide basically the best product in the market right now. I just regret I jumped the gun on FMJ because of the delay =)
DirtyGarry24 How about providing two drilled holes in the top that are spaced as far apart as standard drawer pulls? Then people can buy whatever handle they want themselves?
That's a good idea wbond. Not sure I'll get this done before placing the next order, but definitely going to consider. I'll find the CoG and post a graphic of where the placement should be for Armour owners to DIY.
Received the armour today. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't work with the bulls eye level that came with my skytrak. My level has a ridge that when you put the top case on...it hits that ridge...and the bottom of the top case doesn't sit flush with the base. A little bumped I can't use it. Will have to either leave it on top of the case, buy a new level or just not use one.
Here's a quick pic. Will hopefully get to test it out tomorrow and do a more detailed review soon.
I searched that empire 3604 on home depot to see if I can pick it up locally instead of Amazon. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Empire-1-...3604/100147382 Home depot has it as a 1 3/8" level. I measured my level and the base is 1 3/8". So I believe mine is the same 3604 level...sure looks like it. The top of the level is 1 1/4" which is the opening I measured the case to be as well. The gap between then enclosure and the base is a little thicker than the bigger washers you sent.
N54TT - I would advise to not buy that level on Amazon as I don't think it will matter. My guess is that your bent tabs on the bottom of the enclosure are at the bottom of the tolerance meaning it's "lower" than it should be. 2 options - shim the enclosure with something like a washer (best option for proper window alignment. Or, I can send you a level that will fit. I don't want this to put you off so I'm willing to work with you.
A washer is going to be closer to .060" thk and I would worry that your window would be lower than I would be comfortable with. I'm sending you a PM so we can work thru this.
Awaiting your PM. But I really don't think its an issue of bent tabs. When I just place the top over the base...without the skytrak or level in place....the whole bottom sits perfectly flush.
I just received my ST Armour yesterday, it looks and feels solid as a tank. It has quality written all over it thanks Gary! Now I just have to wait for my ST to arrive this afternoon =)
Almost placed an order for the FMJ, but I'm glad I found this thread before pulling the trigger. This case cost a little more, but it offers more protection and have better cut-outs for the sensors. Great work! Ordered the Armour case Wednesday night, received tacking # Thursday morning, but USPS still shows pre-shipment label as of Friday afternoon and no estimated delivery date. Not sure what the hold up is, but I'm anxious to receive the case, so my kids and I can start playing golf on TGC.

Hey I have wanted to buy a SkyTrak protection case for a while, I haven't been on GSF site for a while but noticed yours seems to be the best value and most popular so I'm most likely going to order one tomorrow. I was wondering do you have any pictures you could post or PM of the unit, and any relevant info just because I couldn't find a centralized place where this was posted? I'm not sure if it is posted anywhere and I apologize if it is, but I didn't see it and looked through a number of the pages. Thanks!
