SkyTrak purchase questions

I have been lurking on this forum for a few weeks - it's great! Thank you all. You've helped me decide to build a (very small, sniff) simulator in my basement, and I think I am going to power it with SkyTrak. I have a few questions, mainly about pricing/timing.

1) I don't want to buy a SkyTrak and have new hardware come out a few months later. Has anyone heard whether there is a new version of SkyTrak coming in 2017? Rumors?

2) The SkyTrak site says $300 off holiday sale - look for codes. But I can't find any codes. Does anyone know what they are?

3) It would seem to make the most sense for me to wait till the PGA show happens in late January to see if a new version is announced, but not if the sales disappear. Does anyone know if SkyTrak has had post-holiday sales in the past, or are they pre-holiday only?

Similar questions have been asked before - The maker of the hardware is Rapsodo. I would be very surprised if they have a "SkyTrak 2" anytime soon. This is just my opinion, but seems to be the general consensus. I wouldn't think anything until 2018, unless they developed some sort of addon unit that can measure club data, but that is not something that has ever been confirmed either.

I would say at $300 off that is a pretty good deal and you won't be disappointed in the current product as long as your expectations are that it isn't a 5k+ launch monitor.

@Skytrak... would be really nice if that new R-Motion golf could somehow work with the skytrak system in the future... club and ball data for around $2300... yes please
