Here's a quick Public Service Announcement for any potential sellers or buyers of a pre-owned SkyTrak. I was mistaken about what SkyGolf would and would not transfer between owners after a pre-owned unit traded hands. Fortunately, I had an excellent transaction with an understanding buyer and we worked it out easily.
Here are the key points so maybe someone can learn from our experience:
1) Any remaining portion of the Game Improvement Package (GIP) or Play and Improve Package (PIP) WILL transfer from the old owner to the new with no issue. Simply have the serial number of the SkyTrak, the seller's account name, and the buyer's account name and email. Open up a chat window and they will take care of it for you. The "Sell/Detach/Transfer" option on the SkyGolf website doesn't work properly, so just open a chat and you will have it taken care of quickly.
2) Any remaining portion of the yearly, recurring-fee simulation subscriptions WILL NOT transfer from the seller to the buyer. There are no refunds to the original purchaser, and there are no transfers to the new purchaser. Basically, once you buy a yearly simulation subscription, it is tied to your user account only until it expires. You can apparently tie a different SkyTrak to it later, but it has to stay with the original purchaser's account. I am unsure if this is the case with e6 and TGC yearly fee-based subscriptions, but it was with JNPG.
This was never clear to me in any of my research, so hopefully it will help someone else in the future.
