    SkyTrak Wifi issues

I am connecting a new SkyTrak to my computer's wifi (in direct mode). In my first practice session last night (which lasted 1.5 hours), I noticed that the SkyTrak dropped connection to my PC's wifi twice. The wifi light on the SkyTrak went red and the red laser disappeared. After 30-40 seconds, the SkyTrak was able to re-establish the connection to my PC. I find this very strange.

Before this unit, I had a previous SkyTrak unit that purchased before the $300 deal came into effect. Luckily, the retailer I purchased from had a 60-day return policy so I was able to lock-in the $300 discount. On that previous SkyTrak unit, I logged almost 15 (1 hour sessions) and never had an issue with wifi dropping (when connecting via direct mode to my PC).

Do you guys think I could have a defected unit ? I am quite proficient at setting up SkyTrak. FYI, I haven't done a hard-reset on the new unit yet.

you had one wifi drop for 30 secs, and you're worried about a defective unit?

Also do you mean network mode? Isn't direct mode when you connect to the skytrak's wifi?

It dropped connection twice. No, I meant direct mode. My PC was connected to SkyTrak's wifi which is how I have always connected to SkyTrak.

I would reset the device and then try to configure it again.

Might there have been an interruption in your wifi signal somehow? I echo what sledge0001 said about resetting the device. That does give you a fresh start. Deleting then reinstalling the Skytrak software has helped me in the past too. But the real solution to my wifi problems was to put a wifi extender in the simulator room. I was sure the signal was strong enough without an extender, but I was dead wrong.
