Whether it hits the screen or not has nothing to do with the functionality. TM (or any radar) only needs to see a certain amount of ball flight. What it hits at the end of that ball flight just doesn't matter. It can be the screen, top or side net or any type of barrier - it's all the same.

I wasnt implying that the distance was too short for it to read, but rather that you would continuously pound the ceiling. But a ball that launches high enough to hit the ceiling almost certainly spins at a high enough rate to give the trackman an accurate reading before hitting the ceiling. But the longer length provides adequate time for lower spinning shots to register.
I was simply unaware that people were out there pounding balls off the ceiling consistently, on purpose, with no concerns. That is why one comes to this site, to learn.
