I think the trackman came out ~9 years ago. The serial numbers appear to be in sequential order to help determine age. You can also look up the serial number on trackman website to see how old it is / when the warranty expired. Just like cell phones or anything else, the batteries degrade over time (esp since they are usually plugged in 24/7) - mine doesn't last more than about 1.5 hours if it isn't plugged in. You don't see many for sale for parts so might imply they hold up pretty well but cant comment specifically (knock on wood, no issues with mine).

My friend has a used Trackman 4 Indoor + Outdoor she’s looking for a good home for. 3.5 years old. HW warranty ($1000 / year) is fully paid up so can be continued without a large pre payment. 80% used indoors by her college golf scholarship bound teen. I am just starting the process of helping her figure out how to find a good home and saw the post! I know the family well, this Trackman will be basically “as new”. Thanks for above post I am going to find out serial number and how long battery lasts as this looks like good info for potential “adoptive parents”Simon
