  • E6 - identifying OOB from the Tee?

I've spent the last few winters playing E6 on an older fullswing sim at a local business. Well they've shut down and now I'm looking into my own set-up to keep the swing going over the winter and considering using E6. One of the criticisms I (and my friends) had with the E6 software is that it was impossible (as far as we could tell) to know where the OB was before hitting off the tee. Unfortunately I don't know what version of E6 we were using (and no way to find out know that they've closed down). In some cases even identifying hazard boundaries was difficult. You can see actual water but still could run into 'grassy' type areas that turned out to be a hazard. Just scrolling the mouse over certain areas didn't give that info.

So the question, is this still the case in the current version of E6? Or was there some method or function we might not have been aware of to make that determination?

    Thanks,

Been playing e6 for a couple of years, on my SkyTrak. I've had only one OOB, in the middle of the adjacent fairway (no way!), and e6 locked up...I couldn't re-shoot my second shot. Hazards have been handled well, offering me a drop or hit it, if hit-able. TruGolf is bringing out a whole new program, e6 Connect (check out the website), with courses all re-mapped in 4k resolution, up-dated physics model, and on-line play. I'm still waiting to see if and when there'll be integration with SkyTrak. TruGolf's video from the merchandise show said, works with SkyTrak, but, eConnect has not yet been released.

Great Question....had 3 OB Tee shots this weekend playing Harbor Town....shots were obviously off-line but just past the cart path on a couple of holes and ended up OB. I have found no way to see the OB in the flyby or other ways. Would love it if someone could answer this same question

Easy.... scroll over the area with your mouse. It says OB if it’s OB

Believe me, we tried that (usually right after it happened). It never showed anything about the area being OB. Hopefully that means we were playing an older version and the current version has fixed the problem.

I hit an OB yesterday on the Scottsdale course, just past the cart path. It said OB and I took a "re-hit." There's still no indication for OB pre-shot. An idea I haven't tried...see if moving the aiming pin identifies OB.

I tried moving the aiming pin and holding it with the mouse button...that shows yardage and terrain (slopes and valleys) to the aiming pin and also identifies the ground (fairway, rough, earth, water, pavement and OB) at the pin. Put the pin on the club house...it shows OB.
