It seems to me that most of my shots are pretty accurate, but direction on chips and putts is not good. I can see the ball go straight, but the SIM shows most chips and putts going right. I don't want to turn the hardware because it seems accurate for most shots. Had anyone run into similar issues and developed a solution?

Putting and chipping with Skytrak

This is somewhat normal for the device. A high launch angle may give you some inconsistent readings. To correct this, I would move th ball back in my stance and hit a slightly lower angle shot with a wedge. The best bet for putting is using TGC with the putting patch turned on.

The slower the shot, the worse and more random the HA is. It's frustrating for sure and I think most have said it's more of a right bias for right handed players. Solution is the straight putting patch in tgc, then there is a short game mode or something. i forget what it's actually called, but if you have it on, anything inside of approx 20yds will go into this mode and read the ball, but it messes with the spin. If you don't use this mode then when you have a short chip, you may have to hit it multiple times to register. It's a trade off. Just hardware limitations of the device.

Glad to hear it isn't just me that has an issue with the putting and chipping with SkyTrak. It seems no matter how far you aim left on short putts is still goes right. Also noticing the high launch angle shots such as a sand wedge leads to issues - 145 yd sand wedges 20 yards right.

Unfortunately, I'm using Truegolf, so I just don't putt anymore and don't pay much attention to chips. I just try to get the chip somewhere on the green and let the computer calculate my putts.

I'm using skytrak with trugolf (e6). We initially had putting issues (no-reads). We found placing the ball off [away from the machine) and back (away from the screen) helped quite a bit. I also have a light directly behind the machine being careful not shine light directly into the camera bay. That said, we rarely experience misreads with the latest updates.
To Hacker13579 I have to think something`s wrong. I have gimmes set to 4 feet and very often putt out from that distance (just over 4 feet).
I will say, we are experiencing more mis-reads and no-reads with short chips since putting improved.--
What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
