  • E6-Connect & iPad

Has anyone used the E6-Connect iOS software on their iPad? I have read and been told it's doable by Trugolf, but cannot find feedback at all on quality, pros/cons, and model of iPad used. I have a Flightscope Xi tour and would like to do everything on an iPad (Air or Pro) and would like feedback from users who have experience with it. Thanks!

I believe Leomode is the only one I know that has tested it on iPad.

any news on this? I need to get an iOS device to run E6 connect with the MEVO+ I preordered. Im wondering if the regular 2019 ipad (a10 core) will run e6 connect, while screen mirroring to my projector, without running choppy and with high resolution. Is that possible? Or will I need more juice like ipad pro or iphone 11?

Im very dissapointed that they do not have PC version since I have PC already run to my projector for r-motion. Its not clear how long before android support, so looks like I gotta buy apple device.

      Please let me know!

    HI

I just downloaded and played a round on my Ipad pro 10.5.

Works very well, graphics good, plays similar to creative golf 3D but looks better.

I used my apple pencil to aim on the side map during play.

Nice, too expensive for me, don't think i'd buy if i had the cash.

Nice to play sim golf on the ipad, very portable for those with outside or temp setups.

Thanks for both responses. Happy, so your iPad could handle everything without any delays or issues? So, they allow you do download a course for free (and is it a limited time or can you just have that course forever without paying)? With the Flightscope, I believe my only options for sim are E6 and Creative Golf (at least that is what Flightscope told me). So, I'm weighing out all my options for myself and my kids....b/c I too think that is a chunk of change for E6 Connect!

        HI ryryu

No issues with delay, standard 1 or 2 seconds.

You just download from the app store, there is one course and a couple driving range types, no putting.

I don't see anything about a 30 day demo, but that wouldn't surprise me, e6 normally only do 30 day demos.

I guess it will depend how good the online play becomes to justify 2500 bucks, but i'll stick with creative 3d and TGC for now.

Green speeds can be set and chipping seemed fine, though i only played 1 round.

Like i said, it played very similar to CReative 3d, had 1 or 2 disconnections, but like creative it reconnects itself.
TGC disconnection is a pain in the butt, but doesn't happen to often with me, thank goodness.

...and FlightscopeRick, I reached out to Leomode by pm, so hopefully he'll respond and I can share whatever he says if he doesn't mind. Thx!

Yep downloaded the demo yesterday. It looks great on the desktop but when I tested it on my iPad and iPhone connected to my TV the graphics where disappointing.

How were graphics disappointing on iPad/iPhone? Much lower resolution? Which version of iPad/iPhone did you try it on?

I am curious too Jel, what iPad do you have? Trugolf told me to use the newest models (Air or Pro) with the faster speeds & latest graphics. Appreciate your feedback! Thx!

I picked up the trugolf mini home swing and installed e6 on my iphone11. it works, but graphics are bad. minimum requirements for iphone were iphone8.

I wonder if it is your connection speed? How fast are your internet speeds on your phone? Use SpeedTest to check... try it with WIFI, and without (just Cell Data) and let us know what you find...

I’ve only ever used it on WiFi and the have a 70mb so speed at home and faster at work. I emailed support asking if it’d be available for use for pc or Mac Bc the graphics were so bad on the phone. They said it be available to be used w pc in the future but didn’t address bad graphics on iPhone 11.

I’m also hoping that TruGolf figures out how to update the graphics for HSS. On a 2019 iPad Air, E6 Connect has N64-level graphics. They should be embarrassed, frankly. If they can implement a fix (especially since the newer iPads have plenty of horsepower) and make the HSS interact with a PC-based setup, TruGolf will end up creating an interesting upgrade path to get people using their software.

I'm also hoping that they’ll release a course creator tool, but that’s probably a pipe dream.

Since my original post here, I bought an iPad Pro 11 and have since bought the E6 software. I have had good experiences with it so far, however full disclosure is that I have not compared it to the PC version. My goal was to do everything on the iPad since my Flightscope travels to the range often (and I did not want to have another computer hook-up). I was told by them that the IOS version is not as good of graphics as the PC version, however I am quite pleased with it. From what I can see from the youtube videos of the PC version, it is comparable (to me, however I am not a huge gamer either). Also, another downfall is that with the iPad and Flightscope, I cannot connect on-line to play live since my wifi connects to my Flightscope (however, I knew this going into it and did not mind). I've only played with it for several days, so I am hesitant to conclude anything decisively, however my kids have enjoyed it a lot so far. Will update here if my opinion changes.

Did you have to pay the full price even for the ipad software?

Jwheels, I had 2 different reps give me 2 different prices...one full price w 2 year full subscription & one 1500 w no subscription...so cheaper than pc version. But you may want to call & check yourself...may have a sale also for holidays.

I've decided to return the trugolf mini, as it really is unusable for me in terms of ui and graphics on the iphone. When they make this available w/the pc version I'll consider trying it out again.
