  • TruGolf Vista 10 simulator: optical sensor replacement

So I live in an apartment building with a TruGolf Vista 10 simulator. The simulator is running the TruTrack2 control module underneath the tee surface with LED optical sensors providing clubface data. One of the optical sensors is missing. It's in the middle row and 1 off from the center-line of the ball-placement oval. It shows as a red light when I go through diagnostics, but other than the diagnostics page, the simulator has been very accurate on my iron shots, even if I put the ball directly in line with the missing sensor. My only issue with the TruGolf Vista is that I get wild open-clubface readings with my woods and hybrids. My handicap has remained within 2 to +2 for the last 20 years depending on how much I'm playing so I can pretty much call out my clubface angle within a degree (ok maybe sometimes within 2*) on all of my iron shots before I even see the readings. With hybrids and woods, however, I never get anything close to square, even on great swings, and despite playing a draw in real life. I'm talking like 5* open to as much as 20* open every shot.

Does anyone with a better understanding of the TruTrack2 system think the missing sensor might be affecting my higher-clubhead speed shots? I'm not long, but driver clubhead speed is usually in the 105-108mph range on radar launch monitors.

Additionally, does anyone know if assuming I could get TruGolf to sell/send me one (an individual LED optical sensor), is replacement something that is reasonably easy to do? I think the full-on replacement TruckTrack system is a couple grand and I don't own the sim so I'm certainly not willing to spend that much on this. I mentioned this in a post on the projector board, but the property manager is a pain to deal with and after two months of hounding him to repair/get a new projector, I am just buying my own, so I know there is no way he can handle this.

Random insight from 2 months with the Vista 10 since there isn't much talk about it on the forums:

When I first moved in the ball speeds were juiced to the point of being comical. I'm a small guy, 5'6" 135 lbs, so 245 yard 5-irons was a little much (180 carry real world). I did some research and figured out how to change the XML files so I measured all the distances and saw a huge difference. I also bought a FS Mevo(NOT a Mevo+), which despite its many shortcomings, is very accurate on ball speeds and got everything even more dialed in. I was actually pretty impressed with both devices on ball speed. On 1000+ shots with both devices running concurrently, I would say over 95% of the time the ball speeds are within 1 mph of each other.
