Hello everyone. I finally got my Skytrack and pulled the trigger on E6 Connect. The deal breaker for me vs. TGC was scramble play, as the wife and I are at very different skill levels, and also the fact that my brother in law already has it. We have played about 36 holes in a scramble and it was great fun (not that we used many of her shots). I have also played I believe 8 rounds of stroke play by myself. For the most part, this thing is great. I would kill to see the scores I am seeing in real life.
Rambling aside, a few early questions I have.
1. Is the handicap still disabled in E6? I know it was early on, but it seems strange that it would show up in the profile if it wasn't implemented in game.
2. Is course elevation/wind taken into account with the Skytrack? In the settings, both wind and elevation seem to be greyed out, but it does say course elevation right before you go into the game on the little summary. If I had to guess, I would say its all at sea level based on distance (I live at a mile high), but wanted to be sure.
3. Is there a way to "resolve" or speed up a poor shot that is hit into the nasty stuff? I have seen balls take 5 minutes to roll down a hill. I had one shot seem to hang up on a rock and I had to force quit the game after 8-10 minutes. I have even seen shots that are in the middle of the lake seem to roll around for 2-3 minutes. It can be pretty darn frustrating if I am being honest. From a game play perspective, this is far and away my biggest complaint.
4. Is there a way to take relief from a cart path without causing a stroke (or does it even matter)? Obviously not worried about my club, but I dont have a great feel for how the game reacts to hitting off a path or out of the rough. I tried to take relief from the path, and it gave me a stroke. I do enable penalties for the lie.
5. Is there a boost mode like in 1.6? Are the plans for it to be implemented if not?
6. Are there preferred settings or some sort of standard, especially for putting, in online tournament play? I have just been letting the computer decide, which seems to add 1-3 strokes, depending on difficulty of the pet. I don't have a ton of interest in putting on my simulator to be honest. I do like to chip, so I didnt like the setting that would sometimes chip from the fringe for you.
7. What do people typically do (again is there a standard for tournaments) for settings such as lie penalty, pin placement, green/fairway settings, etc.
