Have downloaded and installing now. Had to bring the desktop up to the house for the fast WiFi since the program is almost 70GB😳 Plus the limit on my hotspot in the golf studio is 50GB\month so… I’ll be using on the original SKYTRAK. I purchased the e6 “basic” or whatever it is, 15 courses in October for $120. There’s a bigger pack of courses for 2 something. I noticed Apex picked up on my existing e6 license when I was loading the e6 installer so maybe my existing will roll over to the Apex with what’s left of my yearly subscription. Not likely in this day an age but we’ll see.
The computer specs are pretty stout. I’m good except for the Intel i7. I’ve got an AMD 5 but a video card that far exceeds a RTX 3060.Last edited by Skyking; 12-18-2024, 02:00 AM.

Absolutely you can use 5G for SkyTrak. But it only uses the internet to confirm login info and upload your practice session. Same with e6 Connect. HOWEVER, I’ve successfully purchased e6 Apex and the frame rate is 6😳 Completely unusable. As an old test pilot I get the itch to fly now and then so I built this computer for Microsoft flight sim which had the highest requirement of any game, at least back in 2020. It calls for an Intel i7, I have an AMD 5 3600, which correct me if I’m wrong is close enough. I have a RX 6650XT video card vs the required RTX 3060 which I think mine is a bit more powerful. It also requires WiFi 5 and I have the hotspot set to 5 not the 2 point something. I see it requires “gigabit Ethernet” but I’m not sure why I would need that. No doubt I’ll have to give TruGolf a call and find out WTF….

I just wanted to chime in with a similar experience. I purchased E6 Apex about six weeks ago and played a round on the computer I was using to run E6 Connect. I knew it didn't meet the minimum specs, but wanted to see anyway. I was unimpressed with the graphics, and framerate was so low after a couple holes I couldn't play. I built a new PC specifically for E6 Apex which had a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU (equivalent to Intel's Core i9-14900K), 32GB of 6400 Mhz DDR5 RAM, Nvidia RTX 4060Ti graphics card with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, and a new 2TB M.2 SSD. Why skimp right? I installed Windows 11 64-bit, and connect to the internet with a direct CAT6e cable so I get over 900MB upload and download speeds. The ASUS Prime X670E-Pro motherboard is equipped with USB 3.2, WiFi 6E, and 2.5G Ethernet. I think this is a well-equipped machine and should be able to handle a lot. I recognize I didn't buy the fastest GPU on the planet, but aside from the ridiculously high cost (many of the high-end cards are selling for 50% to 80% over MSRP), graphics cards are also just plain hard to find. The RTX 4060ti was the only card I could get my hands on that wasn't selling for double MSRP.Originally posted by Skyking View Post...I’ve successfully purchased e6 Apex and the frame rate is 6😳 Completely unusable. My Launch Monitor is a Flightscope Mevo + Limited Edition with the Pro Package and Face Impact Location. For the money it's a great unit, and I have been very happy with it. This connects to my computer via WiFi and works flawlessly with E6 Connect and the Flightscope FS Golf PC software.
So... new computer was built, and I have no problems at all running E6 Connect. The graphics look great and I can tell they are better than my old rig. I can run E6 Apex, but honestly the graphics look terrible. Just as bad as they did on my old rig. And even worse, I cannot get my LM to read any shots. I have been reaching out to TruGolf and Flightscope over and over again and cannot get this resolved. Flightscope has been awesome. They remote connected to my computer, ran a bunch of tests, did a bunch of troubleshooting, checked every setting under the sun, and said they are confident it wasn't the launch monitor, but would escalate the ticket to their development team just to be sure. A few days later the development team came back and verified the problem is with the software. I agree because the LM works fine with the other software.
Best I can get from TruGolf: I really need 12GB of VRAM and the Flightscope firmware probably needs to be updated.
I spent $600 for access, plus another $1400 building a new computer, and I haven't been able to use the software once over the last six weeks. And if it ever does work I'm still not sure any of this is going to be worth it because the graphics are terrible. E6 Connect looks ten times better.

Just an update from me, TruGolf told me there was no refund cause they hadn’t charged my card at that time. For me SkyTrak would record the shot but as I wrote at 6FPS. I coulnd't believe how it dragged my computer down. I’m probably not gonna upgrade my computer since I just had my 20’ X 30’ golf studio painted, carpeted and I installed a Bose Surround Sound for watching movies with the grandkids. Rather than going with Apex, I’m thinking of buying a 4K projector to make E6 Connect pop and movies will be a bonus.

I have been playing Apex for the last month on an AMD Ryzen 7 with 4060ti video card with 4k projector and graphics are amazing. You will need to fine tune the colours on your projector. I definitely wont be playing E6 after switching to Apex. Graphics are night and day.Last edited by TripleBogeyPar; 04-28-2025, 01:03 AM.
