Looks nice but let's get you a custom resolution to match up the image to the screen size. Leave the in-projector setting on auto aspect ratio or 16:9. Then I would recommend moving the projector back and filling out the top and bottom of the screen. Do not worry about the sides. Once the height is set perfectly then set a custom resolution to trim the sides to match the screen width.
My screen will be about 10 high and 11 feet wide, so very close to 1:1 ratio. I know you can use custom settings to do 1080 by 1080, would a 4k resolution be possible with this ratio? I spent about $1,500 on a laptop and projector (671st) and I'm trying to decide if I want to return both and spend more to go 4k. Thank you in
You're not 4K but the principles are the same for 1080p.

preludesam - I have a new setup with 4k projector and retractable screen (10'H x 11'W) in my garage. I've read instructions on how to setup a custom resolution several times but can't seem to get it to work (user error very likely!). 1st - I am going home shortly to pull my projector (Optoma UHD35STx) back until image fills height. I'll change projector setting to "Auto" option. I have a monitor that I roll to the side of mat so golfer can adjust aim etc on that screen before hitting into the projector screen. I have the monitor & projector screen set to "Duplicate". I've done the math to know what I want is a resolution on the projector screen of 1188x1080. I just realized after reading this that I should be using 2376x2160 due to 4k - correct? Do I need to tell the projector that I want to use the 4k resolution or does it automatically do so if the software (FSX Play) is set up to do it? Also is there a way to not "Duplicate" the monitor and the projector screen so I get full use of monitor image and cut down sides of image on the projector screen? Any advice or pointing me towards another article would be very much appreciated.Last edited by DJKelsh7; 02-18-2024, 08:19 PM.
